Erg. Went to the hospital for regular blood tests. Sometimes they couldn't find the vein to stick the syringe in, and this time it took nearly thirty minutes. Syringes were wasted, and the feeling of one needle poking around, going up and down was one hell of a time.
In the end, they had to jam one on my hand, since my elbow seemed to be devoid of blood. Well, I had a bit of a trauma with needles when I was a kid due to a hospitalization, and while I'm not afraid of it now, there's still a kind of light-headed feeling when there's a needle digging around my skin.
In other words, ow.

I know that feel man, I've had to have regular bloodwork done my entire life and crap veins.
Hell, I've had to have a SECOND Hemodialysis access placed because the first one never matured. Some people just have crap veins.....fortunately there's usually at least ONE Nurse/Phlebotomist (Hopefully someone NICU/PICU Trained) that can hit them (See if they can use a small gauge Butterfly needle, think 19-20 gauge).

Haha, it definitely sucks to have sucky veins that seem to shy away from needles. For today, they kept poking in my elbow area until I asked if the vein in the hand would be easier. After the blood was finally taken, they find out that there's not enough. The pricks were not so bad, it's the digging that sucks.

The Anicubital (The Elbow One) is usually the KILLER for Blood draws. Hand is.....negligible on me (Except for an anomolous Vein over my knuckle that's sideways that works better than the Elbow)
Sadly, due to the access being placed my entire right ARM is out of commission

I must say that when I start doing blood draws I will dedicate myself to doing it as best and painlessly as possible.

Nothing pisses me off as a patient more than a Nurse that says "This won't hurt a bit" before plunging what is in essence a 1 inch stainless steel tube into me. It won't hurt much...or usually for long......but it DOES hurt

Hate doctors and hate needles even more...which is why I always stand by my own method if it aint crippling me than I don't need any doctor. Now my dentist on the other hand....she looks like denise richards from wild things and I love her ..so gentle .

As for my hand, near the knuckle area, there's usually a vein there but not much blood is drained on the first try, so there's usually a second one on my other hand.

Sometimes I feel that it hits the bone, but for most part I just wait. It's not so much the pain, as the waiting that kinda makes me tense. My quiet attitude now is a big improvement compared to me when I was a kid, all screaming and crying and actually running away.

Meh, my human form has the problem. My tentacled self shrugs off your blade! And if it did bleed, my Lovecraftian blood would probably give you hallucinations.

I don't mind needles, but getting an injection in the gums is the worst thing ever. Feels like it's going back past your ear, and always makes my eyes water SO much.

I've had a few blood tests in my life, but the last time was the only one (so far?) where they had trouble finding a vein.
Then another guy walked over, put it on the arm that apparently they were supposed to be collecting blood from, and found it.
So I just had an idiot taking blood for a moment there. Guh.
