Another thing I must say is I like how DC has been more......"ballsy" with their DC animated films. They allow them to be much more violent than their animated series. Four films on Netflix in particular stand out as examples of this. This film, Batman: Year One, Batman and Superman: Apocalypse, and the superhero showcase that has those shorts based on Supes & Captain Marvel, the Spectre, Green Arrow, and Jonah Hex.

I liked Manchester's Black crew more than Superman. They had such cool powers and much better costuming. They just looked cooler all around. Superman's costume is a real pet peeve of mine. I know it's a 'classic' and they keep it around because it's iconic and ultimately makes DC a ton of money, but it needs updating like no body's business. Tights should be removed from the superhero-verse post haste.Your opinion has been noted and discarded. Have to agree with you. Taking away the colorful costumes, secret identities, and such from super heroes...makes them not super heroes anymore. To do so just makes them typical bland "Science fiction/Science Fantasy" guys. This might be a bad example, but taking all the masks off of Luchadore wrestlers is sort of the same thing...sure, they're still bland boring "wrestlers" but they're no longer "luchadores." It's why I didn't give two craps about the show "Heroes." When your costume is shirt, pants, tennis shoes, gloves, you're just not a super hero...you're some doofus with powers.

Its their characters, actions, etc. The costumes are important, I agree - but tights? Would any superhero still really wear tights in 2012?

Haha, I never even said anything about their secret identities or even costumes per se, but specifically the tights. The costumes could be any number of things other than skin tight spandex that leaves nothing to the imagination. Heck, I wouldn't even mind it on some superheroes - but they're on EVERY one. It's just....really strange. Man - you guys really love those tights tho...haha

The costumes to me are just sort of the aesthetic appeal, and in a sense are sorta like 'uniforms' writ large.
Sure they don't NEED 'em; but I think they'd be lesser without 'em.
