All right, just playing through the Megaman library, and I had to get the opinion on this one.
Now from a personal standpoint, I also feel that Megaman 6 should have been on Super Nintendo, but that's another story. 7 I feel often gets ignored (save for the sprites being used in webcomics) for the other entries in the series, but I find it a fun game with its on challenge.
The look of the game, while on SNES, also was different enough from its X Series counterparts to know it was a different story...although I do admit the sprites were a LITTLE big. But I would have liked to have seen this style used more, personally.
Plus, it gave a good anti-hero for Megaman in Bass (pronounced Base, screw what Megaman 8 said), a secret fight with Protoman that was much better than the Megaman 3 ones, and a tough final boss.
So, what's everyone's opinions on this one?

Beat the final boss without cheats a week or so ago, but not without losing once or twice first.
Great music, but that goes without saying in a Megaman game. Easily one of the best in the series, I think.

I think it got overshadowed a bit due to Mega Man X and what that brought to the table.
I like 7 just fine. Bass and Treble were nice additions to the world of Mega Man, the music was catchy for most stages and the graphics looked splendid.
What I didn't like was some of the animation (Mega Man's walking animation looked inferior than the NES IMHO), the sound effect for the arm cannon was embarrassing (sounded like a pea shooter) not to mention it always sticking out was annoying. And Wily's final form was one of the more painful versions of this fight in this series.
Otherwise, a good game.

Love this game. I never really got why it was so heavily disliked. Also, I LOVE the sprite style in this game.

it's one of my favorites to be honest. the SNES was the first system I ever owned and Megaman 7 was the only classic series Megaman game that came out for it. I'd devoured all the X games so this one was no different. I never got to play any of the awesome Nintendo era games until Capcom put out the anniversary collection.

Honestly, after the last few NES games being a little lackluster compared to what came before it, I thought 7 was a breath of fresh air. Still do too. The game has it's flaws and it's clear it wasn't given as much attention as X, and that it had some growing pains from he NES to the SNES, but it's still a good game. Leagues above some of the games that came before it though not quite grasping the glory of the first three.
Megaman eight on the other hand...

Yeah, I like 8... but it's my last favorite main series MM, very easily.
