And to think.......this all began because del Toro was mistakenly identified as a director candidate for the JL movie.

Didn't news on this already come out awhile ago? Anyway, could work, and I'm the kind of sucker who will probably see it, but I really don't have much faith with DC when it comes to non-Batman movies.

There was an idea in development at some point with del Toro ("Heaven Sent" or something), but it wasn't really going anywhere. Then he got involved with the JL movie rumors and it came back to life - and now (a) a major writer is attached, (b) it's going to be a movie set along the lines of the currently ongoing "Justice League Dark" series, and (c) del Toro is now apparently aware of a "cohesive groundwork" to the DC movie universe, which involves Nolan's Batman movies and the forthcoming MAN OF STEEL (and that they may be set in the same world...)

I'd rather have Hellboy 3 or Dr. Strange, but I'll happily accept this.

I gotta be honest I'm not very interested. I can't help but think "most of these characters work better on their own" (at least in theory).

Color me interested. I like to think that it may be like a proof of concept for a Justice League movie that introduces all the characters at once. I've said it before and I'll say it again: all a Justice League movie needs to introduce its characters is a five or so minute montage of moments a la Watchmen for the main characters and then jump straight to the action. Screw origin films.
