Okay, here's a hypothetical scenario. Let's say Dolph Ziggler were to win the Royal Rumble. That would give him a title match at Wrestlemania, obviously. But considering he's also got the Money in the Bank contract, he could theoretically have another shot (whether for the other world title or right after losing the match he earned from his Rumble win).
I'm just curious if any of you would want to see this scenario play out. In a culmination of him pulling double duty on PPVs (not that he's done it lately), he challenges for the WWE and World championships at Wrestlemania.
Would any of you want that?

I wouldn't actively want it, but if it happened I wouldn't hate it.

I'd rather have him challenge the WHC with the rumble, and keep MITB in case he loses. I'd also like him to win the title AND have the briefcase and have the MITB case hanging over the head of any challenger. Anyone would have to beat him 2x in a row, and then he'd get his rematch clause rematch!

Actually what he should do is cash in the briefcase before Mania, and walk into WM as the World Heavyweight Champion.
CM Punk retains the Championship against The Rock, and escapes the Elimination Chamber. Ziggler cashes in the briefcase after the WHC Chamber Match. CM Punk cuts a promo only to be interrupted by John Cena. Cena/Punk have a few words, and Ziggler comes out. Ziggler says he's tired of the World HEavyweight Championship being treated like "second best". He's a World Champion and he deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as CM Punk and John Cena. Cena and Punk are trying to have an official blowoff to their feud while Ziggler is on the outside looking in. He's the third wheel of the feud demanding acknowledgement as a World Champion. They have a triple threat match at Mania to determine the undisputed Champion. Ziggler unifies the belts, while Cena and Punk finally blow off their feud at Extreme Rules in a non-title Street Fight, where Cena finally gets his PPV win over Punk, although the WWE Title is no longer a factor.

More likely, he wins the Rumble, loses his title match, immediately uses MitB in a fit of anger, and that blows up in his face too.

(whether for the other world title or right after losing the match he earned from his Rumble win.I wouldn't be surprised if WWE did think to pull that off so they could say "Ziggler, the only man to lose two main event matches at Wrestlemania" as a thing. Like with Bryans "lost in 18 seconds" thing and Christians "Lost the title in a day" thing etc

What happens if Ziggler wins the WHC without using his briefcase? Does he have to forfeit the contract or can he challenge for the WWE title to unify the two?

Well I didn't think Bryan had to give up his contract if he beat Henry in that steel cage match so I assume dolph will keep it. The only difference I recall was when Edge won his first money in the bank, he had a title match against Batista, he offered christian the money in the bank contract if he helps him win the title outright. Not sure if that is same to dolph's situation thought.

Dolph wins the rumble, challenges for the WHC. He intentionally DQ's himself by beating down Del Rio with Langston, just pummeling on him with chairs, stairs, and everything else. Cashes in MitB, pins Del Rio, and wins the WHC.

Cashes in MitB, pins Del Rio, and wins the WHC. I was thinking something similar. Win the rumble, challenge the champ. Walk into the ring, kick the champ in the balls about 40 times getting DQ'ed. Then turn in the briefcase and win the title.

I like Dolph but him winning would be a disappointment. It'd be like when Del Rio won last year. Nothing will happen.

I actually had a dream that he became the Undisputed World Champ. Kind of a surprise, a la Jericho.

Yeah, none of this is happening ever. You're a huge supporter of fun aren't you? If this were to happen, I'd like to see him win the Rumble and cash in MitB before Mania.

It will actually be the start of his split personality gimmick when he wins the WHC at Mania via the Rumble only to lose when he cashes in on himself and wins the title from himself.

Ziggler's had the briefcase for so long (the longest reign with the briefcase since the first MITB reign with Edge) that I kind of hope he just holds onto it and they tell the story that all these losses are making him doubt whether or not he can successfully cash it in. And he grows more paranoid as he gets closer to July and the expiration of the contract. It makes all his losses actually contribute to a story, as the show-off begins doubting himself (gaining a little sympathy before he really dicks the fans around by cashing in on a beloved fan favorite and taking the title anyway).
I don't know if Ziggler is the guy to do it with, but I've always wanted to see someone sort of become like Gollum with the briefcase, where you get the sense that they've had the briefcase for so long that you get the sense that they're slowly deteriorating from the worry and paranoia of whether they can cash in successfully. Maybe add a five o'clock shadow, bags under the eyes, etc.
Regardless, even if that's a direction they never choose to go, the ideas in this thread alone show that there are so many stories they could tell with the briefcase that haven't been told yet.
