For some reason this had completely slipped my mind. I do believe this is the last time Edge has been on TV right? For all the talk of Cena laughing stuff off or not, this clearly shows it wasn't the case at the time. Edge flat out telling Cena he had to beat Lesnar. Thats probably the main reason I wanted him to win, especially after losing to the Rock.
Compare this with HBK coming back and him and HHH getting LOLOWNED by Lesnar. (Matching broken arms FTW!)

Edge did a Cutting Edge segment with Daniel Bryan and Kane a few months ago so he's since been back.
Still, a great speech, acknowledging the history between the two and putting the feud and specifically Lesnar over well.

Edge was on SmackDown a few months ago in a segment with Team Hell No.
Edit: Damn, beaten to it.
But, yeah, I remember really liking this segment at the time. But then, I've always loved intense Edge. "WAKE UP! I'm not asking you to beat Lesnar, I'm telling you to."

...This promo was never ever mentioned again... Anytime there's a hint of some sort of character development from Cena, it gets dropped pretty quickly. It's nothing new.

I flipped my lid when Edge came out, it started off my favorite Raw that I've been to on an awesome note.

I don't know. I know Edge retired and is now and forever a face because of that, but shouldn't those two still be bitter enemies? I still consider Edge to be Cena's number one adversary.

Cena never really had a #1 adversary. It's just that Edge had his career defining moment at Cena's expense. Their 2009 feud over the World Heavyweight Title was mostly a filler to keep both men occupied while the product was focused on HHH/Orton. Edge as WHC was more status quo than Cena being on top. Their feud ended with Edge winning the WHC, the "status quo" being restored, and hardly anyone even remembering that Cena ever held the WHC.

I never really considered Edge being Cena's longterm rival. At least, not anything along the lines of Hogan/Savage, Hart/Michaels, Austin/Rock or Rock/HHH. I think something that really hurt it was WWE not having Cena/Edge at Wrestlemania 22. It would've made perfect sense. Instead, we got Cena/HHH and Edge/Foley (which, admittedly, was awesome).
