Anyone want to discuss? those of us who didn't watch the DVD yet.
Pretty awesome. Never thought I'd see Samoa Joe on a WWE production.
Watching the "Pipebomb" promo again, you can see how he could claim that he was a "badguy all along" considering he was mentioning how the audience was part of the problem.
Also, seeing the SXE and Jeff Hardy bits makes me feel so mad that I didn't bother watching Smackdown at the time. Especially since I had cable and a DVR back then.
At first I thought it was laughable about "disgracing the World Title", but then I thought about what has happened to the World title since then. Yeah, I don't know if CM punk did it, but apparently it is possible and at some point it did happen.
I like how it ended with the clip of "In ten years, I will be World Champion".

I've watched the DVD at least once a week since Christmas. Good stuff.

Easily the most entertaining documentary that the WWE has put out. Didn't know he saved Joey Mercury's home from foreclosure. My only gripe was that they completely skipped over his new Nexus tenure as I think many would of liked to hear his viewpoint on that angle.

I watched it for the first time on New Years Day. Really enlightening stuff on it. And I figured the reason they cut out all of the New Nexus stuff was just because he was so disillusioned with everything at that point.

I think the fact that they did completely skip it over should give you a pretty good understanding of his views on the angle. There's an extra on the DVD where he talks about an agent coming to him around that time and basically saying that the whole thing was just so Punk could be "John Cena's little TV feud" going into his match with The Miz at WrestleMania, and how disrespected he felt by it.

Watched it again a couple of days ago and though I enjoyed the documentary I was kinda annoyed during the second viewing when I noticed they totally left out him dropping the ROH World Title to Gibson as if he just took the belt with him to OVW.

As soon as it opened with a song by The Bouncing Souls, I knew I would love it.

I found it funny how they had The Miz making positive remarks about C.M. Punk on commentary while he, in turn, didn't exactly say some nice things about him.
But that's what made this dvd great as everybody gave their honest opinions, regardless of how it might sound. John Cena admitted that he didn't see what was so great about him when Paul Heyman was hyping him during his debut.
I also liked that they talked about the problems that stemmed from his early world title reigns as they were putting more emphasis on other guys than his world title reign.

The documentary is incredible, and the 2008 WHC botch job is very well explained with touches of pessimistic realism "They pushed other stories above the title" and typical company line bullshit "The champion makes the title, not our shitty booking"

I wonder if that was the only time in WWE history that a WWE or World Heavyweight Champion vacated the title for a fictional injury

I thought Punk was hard on himself in regards to his matches with Morrison in 07. His analysis is spot on: they had very limited time and ended up putting too much into them, but they were hardly terrible. Well, the finish to the Great American Bash match (featuring Morrison kicking a springboarding Punk in the knee as what earned him the 1-2-3) was. But still.

Also I agree with HHH's philosophy of the Champion should elevate the belt (not the other way around). You don't just put a title on someone and hope the fans believe it. Though, I'm surprised they didn't point out that the WWE title was more important.

Which is why I like that they put the belt on Jericho. What i dont like is that Punk didnt need to lose the belt the way he did. Punk couldve very easily been in the Scramble and ANYONE else couldve been taken out for Jericho.

I really enjoyed it. I still dont buy the story behind the whole 'pipe bomb'/signing the contract mid ppv business though.

As soon as it opened with a song by The Bouncing Souls, I knew I would love it. That and Punk actually being friends with them gives me a faint glimmer of hope that Generico will get to keep ¡OLÈ!
