Flair vs. Hogan should have been the main event for WrestleMania 8. Not sure why that didn't happen.

One thing I didn't know until I read Death of WCW was that when WCW was initially courting Bret (before he signed the 20-year extension), it was planned that he'd lead the WCW in crushing the nWo once and for all, right before it had the chance to get too out of hand. Also, I think WCW had eventual big plans for Lash LeRoux, as evidenced by his impressive showing in the world championship tournament. I mean, obviously, he wouldn't get the strap immediately, but it looked like he was in line for a big push, which he deserved. He was a great wrestler who was entertaining. I still don't know why Vince never gave him a real chance. I thought Lash was pretty good, though I heard he was in hot water after he put on a few lbs. His finisher was pretty sweet too

Wasn't Luger supposed to take the belt off of Yokozuna at SummerSlam, but that was scrapped and Luger won by countout?

Here's another one: The Rockers were supposed to reunite earlier this year after the HBK/Angle fued but Marty blew that one.

I just wonder what could've been if Waylon Mercy (Dan Spivey) didn't have the nagging injuries that forced his retirement. I always wondered what happened to him... as a kid I remember him being the first heel I cheered for "lives are in the hands of Waylon Mercy, know what I mean?"

what about in 1997 at that Final Four pay-per-view? Stone Cold was supposed to win the title in that fatal 4-way match, but was injured during the course of it. they then had Bret reclaim the title. i belive thats how it went down

I heard somewhere that during August, after Mohammad Hassan won the #1 Contenders Match (Orton was supposed to interfere and cost 'Taker the match), that he and Daivari were supposed to win the titles off LOD or something. Instead we got another month of JBL/Batista, and a few more months of Animal and Heidenreich.

Bret Hart was supposed to win the WWF title at WM 13, but then... well, you know the rest.
Triple H was supposed to win the WWF title at SummerSlam in 1999, but Austin didn't want to drop the belt to him. So he dropped it to Foley, who then dropped it to Trips the following night on Raw.

What would have happened if Hogan had done a clean job to Sting? What if Sting didn't injure his knee at the Clash of the Champions in 1990 and would have won his first NWA World Championship from Ric Flair sooner? Would his first reign have gone over better?
I'm glad Davey Boy Smith didn't turn out to be the fourth member of ten NWO.
What might have happened if Marty Jannetty hadn't have burned out during the 1990s. Imagine another guy like Shawn back then?

Butch Reed scheduled to win the IC title, no-shows, title goes on Honky Tonk Man, seemingly forever. And I think Beefcake was supposed to take the title off of Honky, but War-yah subbed for him, won the title, and went on to his 'stellar' career. Beefcake got in a boating accident...so that idea was scrapped.

I am not usre if this is 100 percent true but i heard Bret Hart was suppose to beat Hulk Hogan at either Wrestlemania 9 or KoTR but hogan refused. Thats where the whole Yokozuna thing came from. And yes WM 8 was suppose to be Hogan vs Flair but Hogan was on the outs partially due to the steroid case and hogans desire to do movies.

I think the biggest "what if" is if Hulk Hogan wouldn't have gotten the part for Rocky 3.

What if Turner Broadcasting hadn't dropped WCW programming, and Fusient would have bought the company before Vince.
Edit: and What if ECW would have gotten another TV deal in time to get out of bankruptcy....oh...and gotten someone other than Paul E. to handle the finances.

Yes, you're right. Hogan b*tched his way into winning the title at Wrestlemania IX, might have even held Vince up by saying he wouldn't do the show. In return, Hogan was to do the job to Bret Hart at King of the Ring. But Hogan refused saying Bret was too small and took two months off. McMahon was pissed. He convinced Hogan to drop the belt to Yokozuna by saying he would get it back. After Hogan dropped the title, Vince told him to get the hell out of the company.
When the Bret Hart DVD was called "Screwed", Hogan was one of the ones interviewed being critical of Hart. He had some nerve doing that considering between not dropping the title to him at King of the Ring and sabotaging his WCW career, Hogan has probably done more to sabotage Bret's career than Vince or HBK. Lowlife.

Flair vs. Hogan should have been the main event for WrestleMania 8. Not sure why that didn't happen. I think that Vince didn't think the fans would like another Hogan title Run, so he booked Macho vs. Flair instead.

He's talking about when The Giant (Big Show) first joined in 1996 in the middle of Nitro. He chokeslammed Meng and the Barbarian. It's on the Monday Night Wars and nWo DVD.
