Would be neat having Ziggler in the rumble with the briefcase.
Shouldn't win, but he should last for a while, tease that he's going to win.

The end of Smackdown was magnificent. I don't like Del Rio much. Because he's mean to Miz and, really mostly, he's awful as a heel. But that end was superb. Seeing his heart as cheesy as it was, seeing him celebrate in the crowd, it just worked. It got to me and it made me think he should have been a face all along.

I like face Del Rio, if only for how fresh it is.
But the important thing here is how Ricardo continually proves what a manager can do for a wrestler.

I said this in the SD thread but its official that match turned me into a fan of his at least for now, amazing stuff. He really seems less bland, even though they haven't changed anything about the character...I don't understand how he/they did it. All I ask for is funny vignettes of him acting like a rich and silly goof with the WHC now. Why wasn't he a plucky face from the beginning?!!!!
And Ricardo is still the most amazing man on the planet

I'm digging ADRs face run so far. And I generally don't like faces at all. Like others I am worried he will get put through the WWE Face Machine® and become a standup hack, but I'll enjoy what I'm seeing for now.

I dislike the guy and got kinda furious when I saw the spoilers...but believe me,all of those might be gone now after seeing his expression after the ten count and the way he celebrated with Ricardo.

I have a bad feeling that he'll turn into "Mexican John Cena", like how Sheamus is "Irish John Cena". yeah i like it right now but in 3 weeks or so on Raw Del Rio will be cutting some promo: Del Rio: BIG SHOW YOU ARE LIKE BURRITO I HAVE DOWN IN MEXICO......... YOU GIVE ME DIARRHEA! ::Michael Cole fakes laughter over commentary:: How was this no-sold? Read it in Del Rio's voice and it's pretty funny.

Like somebody mentioned, he went on and on about destiny for two years without being able to win the title and then easily won the title once he started being a nice guy. There's a story there somewhere! They will of course completely ignore it I have a bad feeling that he'll turn into "Mexican John Cena", like how Sheamus is "Irish John Cena". Can't wait for the ADR comedy hour. I can't wait for "Naranjas en mi cabeza" to become his new catchphrase

I definitely like him MUCH more as a face. I was thinking of how to proceed with his character, as obviously he can't be the same rich asshole that he was before. It seems that most of his goodwill comes from his protectiveness of Ricardo, and I think that's where you start with building him as a face. Maybe the reveal a backstory of how when he met Ricardo he was a guy/kid down on his luck that got bullied a lot and Alberto befriended him and supported him. He can talk about how somewhere along the way, he lost his way and just became an arrogant rich jerk, but he has recently rediscovered the positive things that he can do with his wealth. This way, you don't have to retcon the wealthy gimmick and he can still be a sympathetic face. Just my two cents on the situation.

I wasn't crazy about it when I first heard it, but face Del Rio really started to click the last week or so And then the way that crowd BLEW THE F**K UP when the count hit 10. Yeah, I can't really disagree. That was a helluva moment, and good on him. I can buy this for a while, definitely.

I can't wait for Ricardo and Heyman to bump into each other and have a belt-raise-off competition.
As for Del Rio...it's OK I guess, I'm happy to see how it goes. However at the time of writing I have no desire to see him in a singles WHC match at WM so hope he either drops it before then or defends in a multi-man match.

This isn't the first time Del Rio has been charismatic and entertaining. He was one of the best until some time between the Christian and Cena/Punk feuds where they had him mute his personality.

This isn't the first time Del Rio has been charismatic and entertaining. He was one of the best until some time between the Christian and Cena/Punk feuds where they had him mute his personality. People seem to forget how spectacularly over he was until Wrestlemania where he lost to Edge awkwardly/Extreme Rules where he lost to ultimate transitional champ Christian. Plus matches like the ludicrously insane broken ring WWE title match against Cena always stick in my mind. I'm just glad people are giving him more of a chance now given if you assume something will be boring you will believe anything the person does/is involved in IS boring. ADR just sums up what a pro wrestler should be to me, he may not be a Rock or Daniel Bryan, but he's great in ring and comes off like he buys into his character. There's no smarmy meta-acting, it's him portraying cheesy cartoon rich man with heart. *fanboy mode off* apologies for me gushing positively.

I don't think the character is there yet, but man he was on last night. I think as a worker he's infinitely better as a face. Unfortunately it looks to be a real transitional reign, as I'd be pretty surprised if Ziggler didn't beat him for the belt soon. Regardless I'd like to see ADR's face run to have some longevity.

I was so happy to see him win. I feel being a fan of his through all the nonsense has paid off.

I'm just so happy that little by little, people are starting to come around for Del Rio. Never imagined that all you needed was a face turn to make people like him more. Usually, it's the opposite.

The whole Million Dollar Man gimmick had run its course. I'm a bit unsure of how we're supposed to react to him as a face, since I assumed he'd have to drop that gimmick in order to be cheered. Maybe WWE should note that Del Rio is hardly the only wealthy WWE superstar. Let's face it, anyone who main events for WWE is making serious $$, so after a while it's kind of silly to boo a guy simply over his wealth.
Now....what exactly is the SD title forecast going into WM? Personally I'd see what Del Rio could do with the belt. At least we aren't sure what a face Del Rio as champ is going to be like. We know that Ziggler is likely going to suck if he cashes in and wins, that he'll be booked like a coward and need AJ distractions and Big E. run ins to win ANY matches. Further, I don't quite know how Sheamus and Orton fit into this, or how any of this could resolve itself with a 1 on 1 WM match. I'm terrified that WWE might book a Bret/Luger finish at the Rumble with Sheamus/Orton, then Del Rio would want a rematch at WM with Ziggler as a heel champ.
I would assume that Ziggler will cash in on Del Rio after the SD Elimination Chamber. A Sheamus/Orton co-win at the Rumble takes both out of the Chamber, Alberto retains but is exhausted, and Ziggler cashes in.
