The second Aunt Viv was like the second Harriet Winslow, incredibly bland and forgettable. That being said, the first Aunt Viv wasn't all that great and I'm not sure why they didn't just write out the character...along with Nicky. How, short of killing her off? She witnessed a murder and went to live with her sister in Philly!

The second Aunt Viv was better. Seemed more serene and calm. Respectfully disagree. The first Viv was actually funny. Second... not so much. Though she may have been written that way for whatever reason. I agree. I always felt that first Vivian played the part as a woman who worked her way to money. While the second Vivian played the part as if she was born into money.

Anyone ever see that episode of Catch 21 (Carlton hosts it) where he brought in the Fresh Prince members? He had Ashley, Hillary and Uncle Phil (who lost a lot of weight). It was very cool to see them all again.

It was very cool to see them all again. yeah I saw it. But James Avery lost all the weight almost as soon as Fresh Prince ended. He had a short lived show afterwards called "Sparks" with Robin Givens, Miguel A. Nunez Jr. and Terrence Howard. He wasn't as cut down as he is now or even how small he was on That 70s show. but you could still see he lost weight. You can see him at 3:32 But let's hear what Tatyana Ali has to say about Janet Hubert.

After the problems with the first actress, I could see Will and the producers hiring the new actress to either play a very laid-back Viv or hiring a person who wasn't going to present any problems....and thus, it's a different character almost entirely.

That's probably a fair bet. If the rumors about Janet being upset that it was "all about Will" were true, I think it'd be better that the new Vivian be someone who's proven to be laid-back about things.

Good point. The only time I can remember the second Viv getting upset was the episode where she left Phil and moved in with her sister.

So basically the actress who played Aunt Viv acted exactly like a real life version of the Jeffry the Butler character? Awesome.
