My entire run as a concert promoter (98-08) I was booking stuff like this, it has been around with a very strong following for a long time. Like any music the stuff that is underground is often better than the mainstream stuff and takes more chances. any recommendations?

A lot of what I listen to leans towards bluegrass and back porch country, with swamp blues and Americana thrown in there. SPOT - www.spotinator.com/Update: www.myspace.com/spotthespotmusicHe was a producer for pretty much every punk band in the 80's that mattered. Went on to play banjo and guitar. Great guy and great story teller. Tim Barry - www.timbarryrva.com/Listen to "Dog Bumped" and then anything off Rivana Junction. He was/is the singer of Avail. Austin Lucas Chuck Ragan (of Hot Water Music) Jon Gaunt Hell, lets put a bunch of them on one stage: I saw that tour twice, two of the best nights of my life.

Heck add Ben Nichols to that list as well.

I'll just leave this here Heh heh heh. Honestly I just think it was evolution outlaw country led to rockabilly, led to punk. The punks just went back to their roots.

Not much of a fan of Folk Music.
My 'indie' leanings aren't really very indie at all, trending more towards energetic stuff with mild (or sometimes even major) electronic influences.

I like folk but the bands that get played on the radio do nothing for me. I do like the Folk-Punk movement though. Frank Turner is awesome.
