Does anyone know if he got the shoulder/chest/arm piece done in traditional Samoan style or if it was done with a tattoo gun?

He did it the natural Samoan way.
There were pictures I saw of him in Samoa I assume getting it done. I think they showed it in the Once In a Lifetime documentary.

very cool. But I wish he went more into the procedure. I saw the Wildboyz get tattoos in a similar way. The art of tapping really intrigues me.

the pic in the youtube clip shows a needle, not a tapping thing.
still painful. 60 hours of that wouldn't be pleasurable for anyone

Bad...Ass my tattooist got tattoos done the original Samoan way and is of the opinion that it hurts less except for the fact it takes far longer

His Grandfather was even more bad ass for getting almost all of his right side done the traditional way over like...I think it was a weekend and then went to wrestle right after that.
Of course he got a bad infection and all, but alot of his was done by multiple people all at once.

I imagine that's the Case, my tattooist was a pretty crazy hardcore individual though incredible tattooist but yeah rough as guts

I imagine that's the Case, my tattooist was a pretty crazy hardcore individual though incredible tattooist but yeah rough as guts and Steve-O isn't? But either way I imagine it depends on the artist. some guys probably hit harder or scratch more than others. I'd think the big solid black areas would be the worst. edit: found the episode where Steve-O and Chris Pontius get tattoos in Thailand. It's not quite the same thing. This dude just stabs in the ink. at 6:42 watchwildboyz.blogspot.ca/2009/04/wildboyz-season-4-episode-2.htm
