Every time I see her on TV, every time I see her mentioned, I immediately, without fail, think about Eddie Guerrero, even if it's for a split second. It always makes me sad, too. Sometimes angry at the WWE for using Vickie like this, but mostly just bummed that Eddie ain't around.

Actually, I tend to forget that fact all the time... despite Eddie being my all-time favorite wrestler.
Guess I gotta give her credit for coming into her own character.

Most of the time actually.
Probably because Vickie really wasn't around when Eddie was still wrestling (save for like two or three appearances.)
and unlike other people she never really tried to rely on Eddie's name to get a pop.

Maybe the first year she was around. But almost I almost never think of Eddie when I see her anymore.

Put me down with the camp that doesn't think about Eddie when Vickie is on. I love Eddie as much as the next guy, but he's been gone for over seven years. Plus, it's probably a lot easier to not make the connection, based on the fact that Vickie looks nothing like she did back when she was a character during the Eddie/Rey storyline. She's basically an entirely different person with the same name.

Eddie rarely crosses my mind when Vickie's out there. Every once in a while it will cross my mind that it is incredible that someone who on paper should be one of the most sympathetic figures around due to being a widow of a beloved person struck down in the prime of their life, is one of the most hated villains of the last decade. But other than that, her character is so entrenched in week to week programming, that only think about her as her character.
I'm sure some will hem and haw about this, but I think she should one day go in the hall of fame on her own merits.

If nothing else, can't recall Vickie ever having to say she basically abuses her kids over being, I dunno, Kelly Kelly or Kaitlyn fans. |

Vickie has become one of the key figures in WWE over the last ten years. At first it was due to her family name, but she really got herself over. When I hear "EXCUSE ME!" I just do not think of Eddie. Vickie got out of from under his shadow, and I have all the respect in the world for her for doing that.

I'd have no problem with her being in the HOF one day. She's not a wrestler yet she still manages to get more legit crowd heat than 99% of the entire roster.
Remember that time in the ring with Cena when she literally couldn't speak without the crowd booing her, so much so it had Cena corpsing? Is there any heel in wrestling that gets that sort of response?

Yeah, it's bizarre that Vickie is only in the business because of her affiliation with Eddie and yet I hardly ever think of Eddie when she's out there. But we have Chavo, who actually came into the WWE when Eddie wasn't there and yet the best person to describe current Chavo is Kurt Angle. "I have wrestled Eddie Guerrero many times. I have also wrestled Chavo." |

I agree with this 100% Vickie's character is so entrenched and so far removed from Eddie, he never crosses my mind when she's on screen. She's done an amazing job at getting heat, playing her character and doing the little things that she's got her own legacy. She should go into the Hall of Fame, and it would be because of what she did herself. |

And "using" her? You mean by keeping her on the payroll for years as she became one of the most over acts they had, while when she started she was terrible? How dare they.
