This has probably been covered here, so apologies if so, but we all knew that The Rock was going to be a part of the E for at least a year, but is this the end?

Wouldn't be surprised if he and his PR people think he's milked all he's going to out of the mar... I mean WWE Universe, and that he'll effectively be gone for good as far as wrestling appearances for the forseeable future.

Everyone moves up a level. Miz & Barrett go back into the main event and stop clogging up the midcard, allowing us to have a real midcard again. Hopefully Ryback hasn't lost too much momentum by then.

The problems with the midcard have existed for at least 6 or 7 years or more. The main event is top heavy no matter what, and as a result some people are going to have to settle for other stuff. Having a dozen or so or more people in the main event is a big mistake.

Having a dozen or so or more people in the main event is a big mistake. The WWE Title scen has been stagnant ever since Rock made his challenge for the Royal Rumble. Even the top guy in the company, John Cena was just a place holder until the Rock arrived. And Rock's presence quite possibly hurt Ryback's push. Guys who normally would be main eventing get bumped down to the midcard, and in turn they bump down the real midcarders. That's why Antonio Cesaro, the current United States Champion, is feuding with a guy who is way above that title instead of someone actually being elevated to HIS level.

Rock will leave and come back to make sporadic appearances like Mick Foley. He's here in the E to stay but really given he won't be featured as much expect his role to lessen.

The WWE Title scene has been stagnant since they wanted Punk to have this long of a reign, imo. Whether that was caused by WWE wanting Rock vs. Punk to happen is debatable but you can't really say Rock is the reason for that. Given all of Punk's challengers from last year (including Ryback), there was no way any of them was going to win, whether or not Rock vs. Punk was in the cards.

I love this answer - he acts as a "gatekeeper" to the title, then becomes more of a JttS, before forming a face or heel tag team for a run at the belts. Then, it being the 2010s, he shows up in TNA as Rocky Stone, gets a couple of title runs, then the booking team forget about him and he ends up feuding with Shark Boy.
