Who could forget the comedy hijinx of Kevin Nash when he feuded with and later mentored the X-Division. From Paparazzi Productions to the PCS, it seemed like Kevin Nash and Alex Shelley were stealing the show and creating YouTube hits every week. Hell, they even provided some great exposure to the awesome Madagascar Pro Wrestling organization and their two-sided ring. They also exposed Sonjay Dutt for the steroid junky gas-head that he is. And who could forget the Kevin Nash Open Invitational X-Division Gauntlet Battle Royal for Bound for Glory?

Whoever talked Nash out of his initial "squash the X-Division and only job to AJ" idea should be commended. The PCS was a real Impact highlight.

How is it that Kevin Nash is dull as dishwater in WWE, yet everywhere else he's a comic genius and the most charismatic man alive?

How is it that Kevin Nash is dull as dishwater in WWE, yet everywhere else he's a comic genius and the most charismatic man alive? That's easy. Because Vince wants to promote him as a dull 300 lb monster rather than use him in a comedic role.

He seems to lack charisma when he's told what to say yet when he's free to basically speak his mind and ab lib, he's incredible.

It was tremendously funny, but I think it was the beginning of the end for the X-Division's importance. It didn't help that you had Nash telling them they had no personality and weren't over.

Nash wasn't lying though. People were more over for their moves instead of their characters (ex. Petey Williams).

Yeah but burying guys trying to get over doesn't help anyone or increase business What didn't help them was TNA telling the X guys to wrestle like it was a video game and not giving them time to develop characters. In 2006, with Joe and Low Ki heading up the X Division, it wasn't yet a video game format and not every guy needed to be a 'guru' or Macho Man takeoff.

Yeah but burying guys trying to get over doesn't help anyone or increase business What didn't help them was TNA telling the X guys to wrestle like it was a video game and not giving them time to develop characters. It was Dutch Mantell who told Alex Shelley stop it with that "European Chain Wrestling crap" and stick with the aforementioned "flashy, video game-like, high spot-friendly" wrestling that the X-Divsion is known for.

Actually, the true appreciation thread should go to the TNA YouTube account, as they have kept these segments on the Internet for all these years, including the Director's Cut.
