In this whole situation with Barrett I mean? If we're going to have an NXT rookie in a potential IC title feud against Wade, wouldn't Richie have made more sense considering recent history between Barrett and Ricky Steamboat?
Makes way more sense than Bo Dallas

Because he's no Bo.

Because Bo Dallas is a future 30-time WWE champion, Hall of Famer, and the man who will be ending the streak.
THAT HEART AND DESIRE, BABY!
IT'S TIME TO GET BOSANITY.

Got to push Bo to the moon he is the future. I won't be surprise if he won the world title soon so he can break Orton's record for youngest world champ.

A lot folks sitting down in Florida make a lot more sense than Bo. I've seen his work on FCW and NXT...wasn't much impressed.

It should have been Kassius Ohno to get revenge on Barrett for stealing his finisher.

Because the IWC would throw a tantrum is Little Steamer got jobbed out. No one will care if it's Bo Dee.

I heard somewhere that Richie is currently injured, so, this is just speculation on my part, but the original plan may have been to use Steamboat instead of Dallas, but when they found out that he would still be out past the Rumble, they quickly picked another blue-chipper babyface.

With how much he seems to be liked by management, I can easily see him winning the IC title, and going on to have a dominant title reign for a few months.

That's what I figured honestly.

I'd love to know where this idea of "They picked this guy, therefore they think everyone else down there sucks" came from. Chances are that most, if not all, of the other guys in that tournament are going to get called up anyway (plus many who weren't), so why are we freaking out?

I asked that in the Raw thread. It seems like this was tailor made for Richie, due to Wade hassling his father a few weeks back (with Santino).

That is what a select few who haven't paid attention have been grasping at. Someone made mention of how showing how great all these are guys are and then showing them Bo is a bad move, like being given everything you want your first Christmas and then a pair of socks the next. Most are saying Bo sucks (or whatever your preferred term of dislike is) and the others are so much better they deserve the shot over him.

As a YT-only viewer, I admit that I don't pay as much attention to the stuff as I should, so I don't have the greatest perspective to work with. But all I'm saying is that there are some who are over-dramatising this, like he's the second coming of Erik Watts or something. From what I've seen of Dallas, he's not a workrate specialist, but he's got the basics down, and that's a great foundation to build upon once he finds something that clicks with a larger audience. This current angle with Barrett might not necessarily be it, but he's only been working on the main roster for 2 days. Give the kid some damn time, you know? The better guys in NXT will get their shot eventually (not barring any unforeseen personal circumstances) so I'm not going to throw Dallas under the bus just because the office likes him now. Besides... I can't hate any guy who wears those kind of cowboy wrestling boots. ;D

I can't hate any guy who wears those kind of cowboy wrestling boots. ;D He's been in NXT for 5 years and the best he can do is the basics but gets the Cena push of being the best without any flashes of star power. Hell, he managed to turn the NXT audience against him in 3 weeks because of his skill/charisma to push ratio. It really makes hard to want to see a guy who has been booked like Cena '07 with 1/16th the talent leapfrog so many others in that case. Yeah, the better guys will hopefully get their shot but that doesn't mean we want to see Bo just because either.

Steamboat just returned from injury a few months ago. Unless he's injured again.
