Im going to be vague, bear with me.
Ive spent 5hrs in 3 visits, interviewing with 7 different people, all for a job that requires a license that I do not have. "They" were aware of that fact roughly 30 minutes into the first visit. Today I was informed that I did not get the job solely because I do not have the license. However... I was also informed that "they" want me to be a part of the team, and I was asked to go there on Friday to discuss a position. Initially I agreed but after some thought I called back because I didnt want to waste my time. I asked for specific details and was told it would "be a lot like the job you didnt get but we're still going over the specifics". When I asked about money I was told I would be "very pleased with the offer", in fact I was told on three seperate occasions id be "very pleased with the offer".
It seems theyre creating a position for me but Im really not sure what to make of this. Hopefully I truly am very pleased with the offer.

Follow through, you don't have to take the job. If they want you it is their turn to hardsell. Enjoy it, it doesn't happen often.

Honestly? Sketchy. I think they want to do what my last job did to me- made me do the job I had initially went for at half the pay. Turns out it was because nobody qualified wanted the job, and for good reason. The place is being investigated for several wrongdoings, and I was never so happy to be laid off a job.

Im going in Friday morning to meet with the facilitys manager and talent recruiter, again. If the position offers better money/benefits than the job I currently have I plan to take the offer, on the condition that they "help" me obtain the license or at least get the ball rolling.

This is what I was going to say. I have no idea what license or job you may be talking about but I would assume the position would be roughly the same as you applied and then would help you get your license or certification. I was applying to be a cop a few years back and was thinking about paying out of pocket to go to police academy, but a cop told me that if I get hired without it, the department will fund it. Same with a factory job I had and wanted to get the forklift certification. I would go on Friday and hint at something like that. If anything just go and get the offer that will certainly please you.

That would be good if they offered to pay. But cover your bases and ask for it in writing. That way, if they rescind on the offer it's egg on their face.
