I don't know if anybody will even know this answer, but I'll give it a shot anyway:
First thing's first, when I look over old wrestling tapes in 1998, for some strange reason, I was always fascinated with The Jackyl. I liked the gimmick of him being this mysterious force, I loved when he talked and spoke about his prophecy's, all that good stuff. And at one point, he was the original manager of The Oddities, who for about a month or so was a heel faction.
Now, my memory is fogged up, but I do know that at one point, Luna took over and it turned them face in the process, while the Jackyl moved on to manage the Acolytes before finally fading off.
My question is, how did they split the Jackyl from the Oddities to transition to Luna? Was an explanation ever given, or did the Oddities just show up one day as faces?

I seem to remember Sable bringing them out on Raw one week, and that being their official face turn. No idea how they split from the Jackyl. I'm not sure if there was an explanation.

I believe Jackyl went on to manage The Acolytes and than Sable brought them out to show them in a more positive manner

They Oddities did not make many Raw appearances after being introduced by the Jackyl. I believe their original name was 'The Parade of Human Oddities.' If I remember, Kurrgan was not involved with the original Oddities angle, but was already aligned with Jackyl and he was added to the group. The fact that the Oddities were barely featured on Raw after the initial angle might mean that Vince wasn't completely sold on the group as it was set up. On a rare Raw appearance prior to the face turn, Kurrgan and Golga were included in some kind of tag team gauntlet or battle royal.
I don't remember exactly how it happened, but Sable was a big part of the re-debut of the Oddities. I think the general idea of the angle was that Sable could see the beauty and humanity in these people and that they were not ''freaks.' I am almost positive they did not set-up an angle where they turn on Jackyl. I think they simply quit using Jackyl at all and didn't mention him.

WWE needs a new "freaks" faction. They could be like a travelling troupe of circus weirdoes, albeit with superb wrestling abilities. A cross between the Red Triangle Gang, Carnivale, and Cirque de Soleil. WWE had the nucleus of a decent idea with Kizarny, but executed it poorly.

I'm just wondering what the deal was with the Cartman plushie that the group brought out, and also when their association with the Insane Clown Posse kicked in.

I just thought it was because South Park was huge at the time and it made them look hip. WWF must have been trying hard to appeal to that same audience. I seem to recall the New Age Outlaws wearing South Park shirts regularly before they joined DX.

I remember Jim Cornette on commentary for a match with Golga vs Jeff Jarrett and after Jeff gave Golga the Stroke he pinned Golga and Cartman at the same time

Sable was a perfect fit for the Oddites.
Roll up roll up, come see "The Incredible Plastic Woman", be astounded at her face that never changes expression!

I enjoyed The Oddities immensly when I was younger. Granted their matches sucked, but it was a really fun gimmick. I always loved when the crowd waved their arms during their entrance.

It could've been called "The Kizarnival." I can see them as a group of freaks that are tired of being looked at as oddities and will take out the top talent to look like a threat. Too bad WWE can never be that open-minded.

Too bad WWE can never be that open-minded. It's a simple formula that WWE refuses to apply. Nexus did it well initially. A massive and violent beatdown of the top star. Then WWE didn't have the courage of their convictions and the faction became directionless. If the freak faction had destroyed Cena and the other major stars and said "yeah, we don't look like your golden boy, but we aren't messing around anymore", they would have got over, even if it was just a short term thing.

I had heard that Bret Hart was instrumental in getting Don Callis signed and that he had been promised a lot before being given The Jackyl character. It's weird to think that when he managed The Acolytes they were called Hell's Henchmen. What an awful name that was.

I've heard that Don Callis had pretty much the most heat backstage in the WWF of all time. People would do shit to him like jamming his car door locks with toothpicks just to win brownie points with Bradshaw.
