We've had a few title reigns (of any kind, not just world) get close to a year, two WWE title reigns go over a year in the last decade or so, but none of them went happened over 2 Wrestlemanias, did they?
The only one who I can think of was Trish's reign which included title defenses at Wrestlemania 21 and her losing it at Wrestlemania 22.
Seems like a cool thing to do with the IC or US title. Just have a guy win it at Mania and keep it until the next one.

Hogan had the belt thru WM1, 2 and 3.
But that length of a reign seems impossible these days. Punk's was as close as we've gotten in a long time - and he only had it thru 1 WM.
Savage won the belt at WM4 and dropped it at WM5.
Demolition won them at WM4 and had them thru 5, IIRC.
.......that's all I can recall.

I think the first two posts pretty much covered it. I can think of a couple that come close, but just miss.
Technically, Savage had an IC title reign that spanned two WMs. He won the title from Tito Santana in February '86 (before WM 2) and lost the title at WM 3 to Steamboat.
On the same token, Hogan won the belt from Savage at WM 5 and dropped to Warrior at WM 6 the next year.
MVP won the US Title from Benoit a couple months after WM 23 at Judgment Day '07, then lost the title a year later at Backlash '08 to Matt Hardy.
London and Kendrick did something similar with the tag titles, winning them at Judgment Day '06 from MNM before losing them in mid-April '07 on Smackdown to Deuce 'n Domino.
The Light Heavyweight title was close to having that happen twice. Duane Gill/Gillberg won the title in November '98 on Raw from Christian, and dropped it in mid-'00 on Sunday Night Heat to Essa Rios.
Dean Malenko somehow held the Light Heavyweight Title for 322 days, yet wasn't the champ at Wrestlemania in that time. He won the title a few weeks after WM 16 (2000) on Raw from Scotty 2 Hotty, and lost it a few weeks before WM 17 to Crash Holly. Oddly enough though, Malenko had a 5 week reign before the one mentioned where he was the champion at WM 16 (2000).
Gregory Helms was somebody else that came really close. He won the Cruiserweight title at Royal Rumble '06 from Kid Kash, and lost it at No Way Out '07 to Chavo. A little over one more month and he would have done it.
Rockin' Robin won the Women's Championship in October '88 from Sensational Sherri, but the belt was deactivated in Februay '90.
And if you count the Million Dollar Title as legitimate, I'm sure Ted DiBiase held it across numerous Wrestlemanias. ;D
