plus buying singles is a lot more expensive. Well sure if you're buying Black Lotuses or other awesome cards. You can build awesome decks for less then $20 and is a lot cheaper then trying to build the same deck via boosters. I agree that if you know what you want or have deck type in mind then buying singles can be more practical (certainly for EDH) but there is enjoyment to be had from not having a set deck. Singles get expensive when you need dual lands or useful uncommon popular cards.

It does show how the colours interact, sort of... White is complemented by Green and Blue and opposed by Red and Black, Blue is complemented by White and Black and opposed by Green and Red, etc. Yet there have been cases where opposites attract. I have seen a LOT of Black/Green decks, for instance. hell I almost always run a black/green recursion deck. I remember when the first Ravnica block came out, black/green was the most popular colour combo (partially because Dredge was a broken-ass mechanic if you knew what you were doing).

I'm still stuck playing domain usually, there's just something satisfying about making a five color deck that works. The key to domain is having lots of land fetch cards. It's just too bad that this is banned in EDH.
