My final thoughts on Jack Swagger situation You lost me at weed addiction. Also, I got 5 minutes in and you still didn't actually say why he should be pulled from Mania besides saying the angle's more about Coulter than Swagger. He broke the law and with that comes another black eye to the wrestling business as a whole. The WWE isn't like the NFL or any other pro league that has a positive image in the public eye it can't afford any type of screw ups right now. Especially in mania season and with a storyline that is getting a lot of buzz right now.

This does not cause any controversy. A small article here and there on TMZ or a brief mention on a random news website doesn't mean WWE is getting a "black eye." I'd also venture to say within the next 10-15 years, possession of small amounts of marijuana won't be against the law in most states.

It's funny though, if it was alcohol, Swagger wouldn't be in any danger of punishment. WWE has shown time and time again that they don't care if a wrestler gets stopped for driving drunk. One of my big pet peeves is when people equate driving high to driving drunk. Anyone who says that says so out of ignorance Impaired is impaired. While alcohol is obviously worse, you can still get an "unde r the influence" judgement (which may be a fine, community service or jailtime) against you if found with THC in your system. That said and back on topic, Swagger is silly.

I'd guess people driving while talking on their cell phones, or especially people driving while texting, are a far greater risk than those with a small amount of THC in their systems.

Swagger will be suspended AFTER Mania, and probably put into rehab for those 30 days. That's ALL.

And you can get a ticket for that, too. Not in all states. And I don't think people would be calling for long suspensions and getting pulled off Mania if someone was pulled over for that. That's my point, though..let the law take care of what Swagger did. WWE doesn't need to go above and beyond in this situation, especially for a first-time offense.

I can't go anywhere without finding stories about this arrest...it's like the AP is beating down Swagger's door!

Is Swagger still wrestling house shows?
As for the Mania payday, I'm sure he'll be seeing less of it. If he's not suspended it'll be a major fine

Yeah, Swagger getting caught with some weed isn't a "black eye" on the business. Reporter:"I got some breaking news, boss, that'll totally turn the wrestling business on it's ear!!" Editor: "Did Hulk Hogan do another sex tape? Did Stone Cold hit his wife again? Is Vince McMahon force feeding his talent steroids??" Reporter: "Nope! Even jucier. WWE SUPERSTAR Jack Swagger was caught....brace yourself.... with some reefer!" Editor: "Who the f*** is Jack Swagger? You're fired"

He'll probably just get depushed much faster after the Del Rio feud ends in a couple months. What bothers me most is that he'll still get a WM paycheck. Wonder if I'm the only one it doesn't bother. At my job people who get in trouble with the law, provided it isn't a felony, nothing happens as long as they are free to perform their job. Don't know why it should be any different with WWE. Nate you're making way too much sense here. Why do people demand that someone gets fired because of a DUI?? I mean i understand that now he might get de-pushed and by that i mean he won't win the World title, but that's about it. He hasn't been found guilty of anything yet.

To be fair, there was apparently some flaming going on in that thread, especially in the last few pages.

Talking about the storyline is fine but when you start in on personal beliefs and attacking others because of it, you went too far. And in the future, take this stuff to AskAMod in Off Topic and not other threads. Since I am doing mod stuff right now, allow me to refresh people's memory on the Rules, the ProBoards ToS and Community Guidelines that everyone agreed to follow when they signed up: 13. ALCOHOL & ILLEGAL DRUGS : Do not advertise or promote brands or consumption of alcohol or illegal drugs. 18. OBJECTIONABLE CONTENT: You represent and warrant that you shall not use the Website or Services to upload, post, transmit, display, perform or distribute any content, information or materials that:
(f) glamorize the use of hard core illegal substances and drugs; Prohibited Content Content that:
Glamorizes the use of illegal substances and drugs;
Some of you are really pushing it with the pot isn't as bad as alcohol stuff.

I think they could just make him work unpaid for 30 days and call it that. Why ruin the hottest angle in years? liiiiiiiittle bit of an overstatement there, buddy.

liiiiiiiittle bit of an overstatement there, buddy. It's the most mainstream angle in years. Prove me wrong. Uhhh...Cena vs. Rock? Is that enough? I would think that Rock garners far more mainstream attention than just Fox News. I don't consider one TV news station that treats the thing like a joke, and a bunch of minor radio personalities who take offense to be "main stream". It's just gotten attention from those groups, not the kind of attention that's going to make people say "gee, I really want to see what that's all about, maybe I'll buy Wrestlemania to find out". Not only that, you don't sell someone on a heel who doesn't have a direct angle at the moment. He and Del Rio have little to no interaction, so even if you did get someone to tune in, they're not going to get what the hell is going on and aren't going to care because right now, they don't have anyone to shut this guy up.

I'd say the Rock has gotten about as much attention for being champ as Swagger and Zeb have gotten, they're on two totally different sides of the media though. That said, neither has gotten as much mainstream attention as people seem to think.
