Game of Thrones jumped the shark.
Without Joffrey, who the hell's gonna be the new villain?

Game of Thrones jumped the shark. Without Joffrey, who the hell's gonna be the new villain? you thought Joffrey was the main bad guy? keep watching, son. I got my hands on some good torrents so I'll be rejoining the conversation, it just may be a couple days later for me.

Seriously great episode. So much tension! However, my reaction to the ending.

I am sad that we won't get to see Joffrey and Ramsey as a comedy team like Laurel and Hardy

Game of Thrones jumped the shark. Without Joffrey, who the hell's gonna be the new villain? They killed the two biggest protagonists in Ned and Rob. If they are expendable anyone is. Jeoffrey was too much of an absolute POS to not get taken-out sooner or later. There are still plenty of villains left and they'll make more. Unfortunately a guy on another board I frequent spilled the beans on who done it and how.

Jack should definitely get an emmy nod. Never before have I wanted to see a young boy get beaten to death. Damn he was so good at Joffrey. While their are still plenty of antagonists left Joffrey was the most believable. Ramsey just seems too over the top. I do think it will be hard to keep the show interesting going forward without rooting out a lot of the tedium of the books. People were drawn in by the tale of the Stark family. Robb is gone and both people who brought about the pain on his family, Joffrey and Theon, are neutralized. Arya is a sidestory like Dany that becomes harder to tie into the main storyline as time goes on. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Cait is an unsympathetic zombie queen, Bran is off to become a tree, and Rickon basically disappears indefinitely. And while the Freys occasionally get a smacking it is never the blow to old Walder that fans are waiting for and Roose just kind of spins his wheels waiting for plot developements to come to him.

Knew last night was going to be that episode so I made sure to sit down and watch the show with as many non-book readers as possible, just to see the reactions - it was worth it. Emotions ranged from shock to jubilation, 'twas great. And a truly great episode - I'd hoped they would dedicate a full episode to the wedding but in the end they managed to pack all the tension and passion of the PW all into the last half hour and it didn't leave me feeling shortchanged at all. Good stuff.
EDIT: Also, there was an injustice last night... Bronn stole Ilyn Payne's job! What a bastard!

I guess it would be unfair to re-cast him at this point. On the flip side, I'm always a fan of added Bronn.

And much like the Red Wedding...we got compilations of people's reactions to the Purple Wedding. 1) Holy crap they actually got footage of a Joffrey fan! 2) I REALLY want to go to that place of business at the end. Any establishment that airs GoT is f***ing awesome in my books.

But yeah, more on screen Bronn is cool by me... {Spoiler}I just thought it being Ilyn Payne was importance since Jaime feels he can open up to him without fear of reproach due to Payne being mute and unable to write. It's gonna be a bit harder to explain why the new, more cautious Jaime would open about how he feels to Bronn.

Game of Thrones jumped the shark. Without Joffrey, who the hell's gonna be the new villain? The episode featured some guy hunting a maiden before letting his dogs rips her to shreds, a crazy fanatic red woman who sets anyone on fire who doesn't want to follow the Set People On Fire god, and a probably axe crazy queen who demonstrated power by taking food meant for the poor and giving it to the dogs. It was a good episode to be a dog... There be plenty of villains.

HOORAY! That vile little asshole's gone. And though it's great he's dead, the show will miss Jack Gleeson. Joffrey was truly one of the great TV villains, and Gleeson had a helluva lot to with that. Yeah, Gleeson owned that role. I can't even think of anyone else who could've played that role as well as he did, not only did he play a great sniveling little shit, but, no offense to Gleeson, he had a pretty punchable face to boot. I'm gonna miss Jack.

Ah, I've been waiting for that moment for ages and it didn't disappoint. Any episode with Bronn is great, whoever would have thought Jerome Flynn would be so great?

Also, how happy, on a scale of 1-10(actually more like 9-10) do you think Sansa was when he died?

I can definitely see some of Commodus' character in Joffrey, though Hexxus kinda surprised me.
