I've been thinking lately that it seems like Wrestlemania, despite how long it's been around, hasn't necessarily had too many moments that would constitute as "bad", "god awful", or "the end of wrestling as we know it". At least in retrospect.
But those same moments we thought as ruining wrestling are just odd now. Things like Giant Gonzalez and his Sasquatch outfit or the Anonymous Raw GM or Bossman and Undertaker having a mild Hell in a Cell match or even 18 seconds just seem so out of place, don't they?
Any thoughts on what else could be considered odd to their era of 'Mania?

Hell in a Cell at Mania 15 wins it.
If I told a newcomer to the world of wrestling that UNDERTAKER was in a mid-card match at Mania with Boss Man, they'd struggle to accept it.
Imagine said new fan's reaction when I proceed to tell him that it was inside the cell, the crowd didn't give a s*** and the big ending was Boss Man being hanged while Cole cut a promo for the next segment.
That's Davey Boy Smith levels of BIZARRE.

Do you think they booked it just because they wanted to Hang BossMan but couldn't think of any other way? Didn't he turn up on Raw straight after as well?

austin vs scott hall at mania 18. sure austin stardom was fading, but he's still Steve Austin!. Not to knock Scott Hall, but to have the guy whos been the face of the company in a foregetablle mid card match was a waste. Hell even one last match with Angle would have been a lot better

And Scott Hall's stunner sell is still mental.

My memory is pretty terrible on that so I'm not sure if he was on Raw the next night. I think the whole thing was to show how scary this new Undertaker could be and that he's willing to do anything to get to Vince. I'm not quite sure it worked as well as they would have wanted it to though.

Was Goldust in a Wrestlemania? Was Mania 15 where he lost to Shamrock and Blue Meanie/Ryan Shamrock were in his corner? Think she tripped Goldy by accident.

Rock facing a better booked DDP would have been a lot more fun as well, save Hogan/Rock for later down the road.

Was Goldust in a Wrestlemania? Wrestlemania 12 had Goldust fight Roddy Piper in a Hollywood Backlot Brawl. It featured a car chase that parodied the OJ Simpson chase and ended with Piper stripping Goldust of his clothes. The really bizarre part (in hindsight) is that Steve Austin had a match at Mania and they cut away from it to show an update of a Goldust / Piper match.

He also got stripped to his underwear in WM12 by Rowdy Roddy Piper, got Pedigree'd by Triple H while his valet Marlena got (wo)manhandled by Chyna at WM13, and got beat up by Sable on a few occasions in the intergender tag match at WM14. Goldust was the original "Big Show" in terms of embarrassing WrestleMania moments.

And probably not caring because of aforementioned this that and the other.

Rock facing a better booked DDP would have been a lot more fun as well, save Hogan/Rock for later down the road. Rock/Hogan had to be at a Wrestlemania. Not to take anything away from DDP, a match with him and Rock might have been ok, but he didn't have the stature needed for a program that high profile. He's charismatic, but nohwere near off-the-chart Hogan or Rock levels. WWE wisely struck while the iron was hot there. As far as bizarre equalling awesome, I'll add Boogeyman sneaking up behind Donald Trump at WM23 and Trump being totally apathetic to it.

I don't hold WWE to highly anymore, and when I've watched the last 5 mania's, I always expect a few backstage skits that are not funny and feature talent that should of been in a match (like Beth Phoenix) and some random celebrity. There is always some time wasting bit to promote some reality show, but i have come to accept that, that is how the WWE is these days, and if i want to watch a stacked show that doesn't waste time, I'll watch a PWG or ROH DVD.
But last year when all those "Mommas" came out, I just was dumbfounded, and all i could picture was Vince at the Gorilla position laughing his head off as his dip-shit and spineless yes men just sat there with a fake grin on their faces and patted him on the back for such a genius piece of entertainment.
I thought It couldn't get any worse than Hornswoggle rapping, but then that happened for about 5 minutes.
