Shane McMahon gesturing towards the WCW lower-midcard in a sky box at WrestleMania X-Seven. This was only six days after the last Nitro, and included a WrestleMania cameo by guys who never even got called up to wrestle in the Alliance.

HHH vs Sheamus at WM 26
It felt so weird seeing HHH in that match, considering every WM he's been in since 2000 has either been a title match or very high up in the card.
It would be like seeing John Cena at this year's Wrestlemania against Damien Sandow.

This is a more old school one, but when Ventura said "It's time for movies now" after the Hogan/Bundy match at WrestleMania 2.
What did that even mean?

That godawful Wrestlemania replay debate. Really, 10 minutes of discussing the use of instant replay, was that really necessarry?

Hell in a Cell at Mania 15 wins it. If I told a newcomer to the world of wrestling that UNDERTAKER was in a mid-card match at Mania with Boss Man, they'd struggle to accept it. Imagine said new fan's reaction when I proceed to tell him that it was inside the cell, the crowd didn't give a s*** and the big ending was Boss Man being hanged while Cole cut a promo for the next segment. That's Davey Boy Smith levels of BIZARRE. Wrestlemania 15 was the first one I ever saw. me and my friends thought that match was the dumbest thing ever.

An old and pretty insignificant one that I found baffling:
At WM V, Dino Bravo and Ronnie Garvin are in the ring for the next match. They introduce Jimmy Snuka, who comes down to the ring, waves and then leaves. Match continues like nothing happened.

Chavo Guerrero vs. Kane for the ECW Championship at Wrestlemania 24 is listed as a main event.
I was less surprised by Floyd Mayweather (a non wrestler) being listed as being in the main even than I was Chavo Guerrero.

Liberace.
Also, the Playboy Battle Royal or Lingerie battle or whatever it was during a year it seemed like they were trying to get us to take womens wrestling seriously.

T and A vs. Head Cheese at WrestleMania 2000.
I think that says it all.
