I was so pissed off at the end of this match, like really annoyed as to how it went down. After rewatching it a couple of times I understand that RVD was slightly messed up due to the failed 450 but really I've noticed more and more lately that RVD is just terrible when it comes to making anyone look good instead of himself and to be honest it seemed that's exactly what he did here. He went for the big cool move and by doing that he made King's end of match offence and win look sloppy and bad. I think Van Dam is a game player and I think he sabotages guys that he doesn't want to put over by making them look bad even in victory. I noticed it with Ion, I noticed it with York and hell I even noticed it back in his last match with Lynn.
Does anyone else see it or feel this way? I honestly used to love RVD but after seeing the way he acts in these matches, especially with the up and comers, has really soured me to him and his matches.

Idea was King was supposed to immediately pin him after the 450 RVD missed but the ref completely f***ed up so both guys were just lost until finally King hit his finish and pinned him. Not RVD's fault, it was the ref being an idiot by claiming RVD's shoulder was up.

I hated how it ended too. Earl Hebner is horrible.
Think RVD might have knocked himself loopy with that 450 miss. Earl was counting and his hand hit RVD's hand so it didn't hit the mat. It was awkward for the wrestlers because they didn't know wtf was going on.

My problem was RVD did not look at all like he gave a care about that match. For example, that sloppy German Suplex where he could have broken Kenny King's neck. It really does tell me all the reasons that I believe Rob should hang his boots up before he ends up ending someone's career.

RVD and Earl Hebner suck, this is new? They both are coasting on rep and have been for years. RVD hasn't cared about wrestling since his wife got sick then it got worse with the pot bust and it's obvious he's only in it for the money, while Hebner's only reasons for being in wrestling are having a twin and then screwing over Bret.

Time to trim the fat. But it won't happen because of their past accomplishments.

He's done it a couple of times in TNA, but I don't think he's successfully hit it. I've said this before and I'll say it again: RVD needs to formulate a new game plan. He may not care, but at this point he's like watching that aging high flyer whose best days are behind him. He still can hit his main spots but is clearly a step slower than he used to be. Could he repackage himself as a mat based wrestler that does fewer high spots?
As far as RVD making someone look good or not...isn't some of that due to the booking? Frankly a finish like last night's makes no one look good, even if it had come off correctly. RVD misses a big move after posing for the crowd and is pinned? Bleh. It looks more like RVD beat himself than King beat him.
It's a bit unfair to say that RVD hasn't cared at all in TNA though. He looked quite motivated during his initial push, but it seems like the whole goofy Janice angle with Abyss took all the air out of his sails.

I'm still a big RVD fan, but I'd rather he go back to WWE and become a trainer as well as a special occasion guy. It's better than him becoming a shell of himself in TNA.

Why wouldn't he be a shell of himself in WWE? As far as I'm concerned TNA is too good for him and he should go home and wash his tights forever.

I know, I just still think he'd phone it in on those occasions as well seen as he's all about being the "IT" guy and is lazy and unmotivated otherwise. Plus as far as him becoming a trainer, I don't want someone who is as sloppy as RVD has become training the next generation.

I was more annoyed about King slamming RVD on his head when he could see clearly that he was concussed

I was more annoyed about King slamming RVD on his head when he could see clearly that he was concussed I don't see how he was clearly concussed, I've read no reports of him suffering a concussion and if I'm perfectly honest he was probably the one calling the match so he probably told King to go for the Royal Flush finish.

RVD has kind of been annoying lately; I thought after his initial couple of matches with Zema that he looked refreshed, like working with younger guys would be a good thing for him, but he just got stale quickly.
