As a former Broski of the Week, I have to say I don't even think I bothered to watch the last 30 or 40. Especially when it basically became a weekly wrap up of his tv time.

The term "changed the business" is a bit of an exaggeration. While I give credit to Ryder for his use of social media, the concept of using an internet show for entertainment purposes and establishing a wrestling was hardly Zack's invention. If anybody deserves credit for that its Miz and Morrison who more or less invented the WWE kayfabe internet show back in 2008 with the Dirt Sheet and initially gave Zack his first actual personality. The only real difference was that the Dirt Sheet was polished and Ryder's show charmingly low rent.

It definitely played a part in WWE seeing the possibilities of Youtube and the like for getting guys over, but he is patting himself too much on the back for this.

The most he did was give WWE a reason to further commit themselves to something they were already dabbling in.

I thought people were meant to do the bitter anti-WWE rants AFTER they got fired. Ryder's changing the shoot business!

s***, he's going to be one of those guys that, in 20 years' time, only does interviews in which he bashes the WWE, isn't he?

The Dirt Sheet was not the first kayfabe internet show, there was Byte this for one... but other than that the Heartthrobs had a bunch of internet promos, as well as things like Five questions with the Champ when Cena first won the WWE championship back in 2005.

Honestly? I don't see what's insane about this. The WWE didn't give a crap about social media until Ryder used to sell merch. Frankly, he's an idiot sometimes but that's a perfectly fair claim to make.
...Now if you want to dispute that this change was not for the better, that's also a very fair point.

Byte This generally blurred the line a lot between shoot and kayfabe though, and the various other internet shows never made the impact or were referenced on TV as much as Miz and Morrison's show. So yes, not the first, but the first to actually be a big deal for the characters/performers.

He has a point. "Changed the business" may be a bit of an overstatement though. Time will tell.

I think Ryder's biggest mistake here is that this will eventually cause the entire locker room to chase him down with torches screaming "HE'S THE ONE THAT FORCED US TO START DOING SOCIAL MEDIA SHIT. GET HIIIIIIIIIIM!"

God I dislike Ryder.. Social Media Changed the business, just like it changed everything else in the world. The Twitters, Facebooks, and Youtubes have spearheaded a revolution in the entertainment world.. All Ryder did was no different than any body else who has posted on a media site some original content..
