I mean, most of his songs have always been right in between Pop and Hip Hop, and it's made him money, but it's never been as blatant as this. I mean, this sounds like a song that Flo Rida passed up so a producer forwarded it to Nelly.
FAN, what are your thoughts on Nelly's new direction?

I had thought Nelly turned pop when he did a duet with Tim McGraw several years ago.

I don't mind Nelly being more pop-ish. He's a talented guy.

I was never really a huge fan of his to begin with. I don't doubt the guy, though.

Nelly's been as pop friendly as hip hop could possibly get since he debuted. But he's awesome, so whateves.

I wish this thread was about his newfound John Waters moustache.

Pretty much this Uh, Country Grammar isn't the most friendliest songs..... It's super catchy though. It crossed-over without trying to crossover, which was Nelly's initial appeal.

Eech. He's pronouncing it "Por-sha." I hate people who do that. It's "Por-Sh"

Nelly's been as pop friendly as hip hop could possibly get since he debuted. But he's awesome, so whateves. Oh, sure. I've been a fan of the guy since back in the day, but this just isn't a good sound for him - that being straight up Pop. It's Flo Rida type stuff, and Nelly can do better than that. I much prefer his older stuff where he'd blend Pop and Hip Hop seamlessly, but he's not good at straight up Pop, in my opinion.
