Browsing Google News, it seems more than 1 source is saying that Paul Bearer's sons are at Raw tonight.
Any CM Punk reference to his death as part of the WM29 buildup is officially even more awkward now.....

I would hope CM Punk would have more respect than to use Paul as cheap heat...
...Then I suddenly remember him mocking Lawler's heart attack.

I feel kinda mixed on the issue.
Yes, it is terrible to mock the dead, especially since Paul Bearer only died a few short days ago.
On the other head, Punk can mock The Undertaker for grieving to the dead. That might just make it acceptable enough to classify as building the angle without making it directly about Paul Bearer.

While making light of the dead is tasteless, they are using the news of his passing as a means to further a storyline in which The Undertaker, who Paul Bearer was heavily involved with for many years, is involved. It works, and I do believe Paul himself would have approved.
That said, one of my favorite Paul Bearer memories actually comes from the time when he was managing Mankind and Vader. I do not remember which PPV it was, but what I recall is that they showed a clip of the boys and some other superstars manning the phone's on WWE's fan hotline, and Paul in particular was sharing a hug with Sunny, his head rested upon her bosom looking as if it was the happiest moment of his life, and Sunny looking like she was struggling not to laugh.

One of my favorite Paul Bearer memories was on WWF Superstars. Jerry Lawler was a heel feuding with Bret Hart. At the time the WWF was also doing a gimmick where you receive a happy birthday phone call from a superstar for so much money. Lawler used the service to have Paul Bearer sing a happy "100th birthday" to Helen Hart. Bearer singing in that trademark high voice was hilarious!
Punk's promo could've been way worse. I wish they wouldn't do those things, but I'm thankful it wasn't "Eddie's in hell!" levels of tasteless at least.

The best part of that picture is Saddam Hussein casually enjoying the action in the background.

I was honored to have met him at NWA Legends Fanfest in Charlotte nearly three years ago, and he's been a guest with us on In Your Head Wrestling Radio frequently over the years. He was a very humble man and one of the nicest guys I've met. RIP
