Watching old WB cartoons and I realized that Road Runner was the weakest series . I mean they are okay, but they are all feel the same. That is not to say they are not good for one here or there, but they run together, where Bugs or Daffy cartoons do not run together to the same degree.
I don't know. It just feels like the weakest series that they put out.

Actually let me say this... the Chuck Jones/Michael Maltese Roadrunner cartoons are great. I think the problem lies in other directors and writers who attempted to capture the magic. In the end they do feel like the same.

That is not to say I blame the background, but it seems to go down at the same time the quality does. I mean "Beep Beep" was good, the later ones feel like a jumbled mess.

Yeah, I think a good question for those cartoons is how many times can you laugh after seeing someone fall off a cliff or hit by a truck. Still I love the Three Stooges so the answer for me is often.

Preferred over Tweety and Droopy. See I don't like Tweety much either. But at least the venue changes a bit, so it edges out Road Runner a bit in my book. I mean I despise the Tweety Character more than any of the original WB characters,but the shorts over all for RR seem a tad more redundant and bland then the Tweety shorts.

So would Pepe LePeu, though the gag of the cat who keeps getting the stripe was kind of worthwhile.

What's your opinion on Ralph Wolf and Sam Sheepdog? I personally preferred them to Wile E. Coyote and The Road Runner.

Still better than;
Hubie and Bertie Cool Cat (about as funny as being awake during surgery with no anesthetic) Marc Antony and Pussyfoot Goofy Gophers Taz (he would have stayed a one off character if it wasn't for Jack Warner lying about his popularity) Speedy Merlin The Magic Mouse
Also ANY Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies from the mid 60's on are just f***ing depressing more than anything else. As much as I love Daffy Duck, that's one duck that should have been cooked before they did everything to just kill the character later on, especially when he became the f***ing antagonist to Speedy of all characters. Those episodes are painful to watch because of how bad they look. In fact, most cartoons from the late 50's on had a dip in quality that didn't improve until the mid 80's.

I wasn't overly keen on Roadrunner but I could at least watch it if nothing else was on. I couldn't watch Tweety at all though. I just hated that annoying bird.

I don't know, even though the road runner was very predictable, there was still a part of me who wished to see that bird getting some commeupance, I think that the big merit of that series is that you rooted for the bad character instead of the good one

Pepe and Speedy are my least favorite (though i do like speedy on the looney tunes show, but thats only because he at least has a personality there).
