HBK @ 25.
However, the out-of-nowhere AA spinebuster in the Flair match was as much of a mark-out moment as the entire HBK match.

I agree with the board. The 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania (aka WrestleMania XXV). It wasn't the 25th anniversary, unless you count year 0 as a 1 year anniversary... I know. I won't let WWE's stupid marketing die, so I try to always refer to the PPV by that long, inaccurate title. They actually branded the PPV 'The 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania.' That's the term they seemed to always use. They were conscious to not say "WrestleMania Twenty-five."

I almost voted Edge, but Michaels I is just about perfect, bar Taker knocking himself loopy on that dive outside the ring.

Taker/Batista for me. Surprisingly great outing from both men

wm 25. i was there live. it was just magic. from the match to those of us in the crowd just getting sucked into it.
with the next years the bar had been set, but everyone just was blown away in the crowd during the first meeting, we had no idea it was going to be THAT good.
i love rewatching it over and over for that reason.

I think he struggles to have good matches. Aside from the last couple where it's obvious a lot of effort has been made to make them 'great' the majority of his matches in WM history and his career have been forgettable. Before the match with HBK the last memorable match he had was when Foley threw himself of a cage.
If we wanna strip things away then to be honest the gimmick contributes a LOT towards his success. People attack the Warrior for being just 'music, entrance and look' - and not much bell to bell
...well, Taker's never been far away from that definition himself IMO. One of the greatest characters of all time? Yes, but if you think about a career spanned almost 25 years and you can struggle to fill the fingers of one hand up with the number of top matches he's had for which he can be realistically credited.

HBK vs. Taker I is one of the best matches I've ever seen. Probably in the top 3.

That said, I feel that overall story, stips and match quality was his first match with Kane. That was probably the first time he had a "great" match at Mania. Of course, their rematch at 20 left a lot to be desired, which is why I hope they never face each other again. The video highlights leading up to the actual match is just some of the most awesome work the WWF has ever done, and had you wanting to see this clash of the titans. Even if Kane had never wrestled another match (it was still unknown at this point if Kane was just a short-term feud), this was just fantastic. His match with Orton at 21 gets second. The rest, I honestly could do without.

Eh, as good of a match he had with Shawn at Wrestlemania 25, I'd give the edge to 26 there simply due to the stipulations...it had me more intrigued since there was more on the line. As good as a match can be, it loses it's finesse when I know what the outcome is going to be. With 26, I actually felt that Shawn had a chance of winning, especially since it closed the show. That said, I feel that overall story, stips and match quality was his first match with Kane. That was probably the first time he had a "great" match at Mania. Taker and Shawn are two of my favorite wrestlers, and I love their matches, but Shawn's chops in those matches are just so abysmal. I voted for the Flair match, it's just so much FUN. One of the most rewatchable matches I've ever seen.

IMO,Taker vs HBK at WM 25 is the best match ever, let alone being Taker's best Wrestlemania match.

Taker v HBK at WM25 was a special match so has to win. However, vs Triple H Hell in Cell last year is a very close second, and I am especially fond of it because I was there.

Undertaker vs. Michaels from WM 25 is the match that comes to mind in this case.
