At this point the debate on his booking's gotten even more boring and stale than his character's been accused of being. I've seen fans on other boards just losing their mind and treating it as this traumatic national crisis, when it really isn't much more than a mild sticking point regarding an otherwise great talent.
I know I'm biased because I like him perfectly fine as the happy go lucky goof he is, but I'd enjoy discussing wrestling a lot more if we could just for one time focus on something else when it comes to him. Preferably before WWE did anything new with the character.
Why is Cena (allegedly) needing a change overshadowing the boner meme? Where's Jardu Cenesh? Hell, Lancers had a really funny sig that cast Cena as a creepy mustached pedo with a beat up van. Why hasn't that caught on? Yes, I'd honestly be more willing to joke about Cena being a pedo than see one more thread about him (allegedly) needing a heel turn. People say they want something interesting to happen? There you go.

I seriously want Alberto Del Rio to recruit Juan Cena to battle Swagger and Colter sometime. For no real reason other than my own personal amusement. Just have him pin Colter and everyone is happy.

I think we can have a healthy discussion on what other sort of hats Cena could pull off wearing on the way to the ring. John could rock a bowler I think.

We should be demanding wwe to give Cena a nice month off. They guy works too damn long and hard. When he comes back he should tag with Orton and just put over the tag division.

Suppose one night you woke up and saw Cena standing next to your bed and he told you "The Make a Wish Foundation sent me" and he climbed into bed with you. What would you do?

I don't think he needs a heel turn. He just needs to be out of the spotlight for a while. No main eventer in history was at the top for 8 years while simultaneously being on TV every week and wrestling at every PPV.

I think Cena would legitimately benefit from a tag team feud. Befriend somebody, have a heel attack them, have that heel get a buddy heel, they battle. It doesn't have to be in the mid-card, but at least not the main event.
You'll notice back in the day, when Hogan didn't have the belt, this is what he'd usually be doing. As the secondary top match, he'd have one of his buddies and they'd be teaming against a monster heel team. It helps give Cena something to do and potentially elevates three other talents in the process, closing the gap between Cena & the rest of the roster in kayfabe.

His incredibly stale and boring character isn't something that can be pushed to one side really.
It's too big a flaw for even awkward memes to battle.

Having a guy pushed like this is toxic. Oh sure, he's a draw who puts the butts in seats, gets the ratings and the online attention. But the longer you focus on him, the more time you've wasted that you could've used to build up other people, that you could've had interacting with him to get the rub, and so forth. He's become less a fixture of the main event and more the institution that is the main event. The audience is totally bipolar now, getting all manic and revved up whenever Cena's doing anything before going flat as a pancake when he's gone. Compare this to the Attitude Era when everyone was mega over, or even back in 2005/6 when most of the roster was somewhat over. Most guys barely garner a response anymore, and I think the Cena dependency that WWE has created contributes extensively to that.

It's normally round this time a year that the thread for suggesting ridiculous entrances Cena can do at Wrestlemania pops up.
