Writer and director Max Landis (Chronicle, The Death and Return of Superman and son of John Landis) was on a podcast with Ziggler and it is a fascinating listen as Landis delves into wrestling, which he is a massive fan of, with a movie mind.
Sadly the host of the show sucks, but the chat between these two are great.

Fantastic interview, that host was absolutely dreadful, extremely disrespectful, especially of Max Landis. I really enjoyed his passion

Yeah, that host was annoying. Though, I can't blame her for laughing a bit at how hard he was geeking out. Seems like a cool dude. Might check out that chronicle movie.

Max has good points, but I've heard too many stories about him being a giant douchebag to respect him.

The guy is very knowledgeable and I enjoyed how much he loved wrestling. The girl though was a moron. Maybe she should have shut her mic off or left the room

That's a great interview. Max Landis' short films are pretty awesome, and the way he came off in the clip and the passion he talks about wrestling made me like him even more.

That woman was the worst. I'd like to hear another longer interview with Max and Dolph minus her interruptions.

Wow, that woman was terrible. Really terrible.
I mean, I get not being knowledgeable about something, but at least treat the guest of your show with some respect. Jeez.

Wow, okay, yipes. I don't usually get personal on this board, but: CONFESSION TIME: MAX LANDIS IS MY COLLEGE EX-BOYFRIEND, and one of the main reasons I got back into pro-wrestling. Wow, brunette. Been a while. He is NOT a douchebag. Arrogant, obnoxious, yes. But really sweet and crazy smart, and very accessible to his fans. A lot of people get intimidated by him because he's crazy passionate, but he's maybe the most genuine person I've ever met. Someone did a bigger edit called "Deconstructing Pro Wrestling," and that edited together basically the speech he gave me (from podcasts) that got me into wrestling as an adult. It is crazy that someone posted this. Sorry, I'm a little flustered. His twitter is gold; he's actually become friends with Dolph, and they tweet back and forth sometimes. Anyway, I think he has great insight on it, and, spoiler, he has a pro-wrestling web series coming soon (although I don't think I'm supposed to talk about it.)

I listened to his interview with The Nerdist, and realized a lot of my personality lined up with what he was laying out about himself. And he's got the kind of nerdbrain I can get behind. Got a ton of respect for the guy, and knowing he's a wrestling fan just furthers that.

I like Max, tweeted me back when I asked him if a lot of the wrestling references in Chronicle were intnetional (they were). Great interview here too.

"Are you guys gonna have sex?" "He has a comedy fetish .." So many cringe-worthy interruptions. You could feel the awkwardness in the studio. Absolutely terrible hostess.
Interesting conversation between Ziggler/Landis, though.

Whoa Whoa Whoa...
She dated Max Landis and no one asks if she met John Landis? I know it might be a personal question but there's only a small chance that you'd get to meet the man that brought us An American Werewolf In London, Coming To America and Thriller... He directed Thriller.
