I love the unpopular opinions thread for wrestling and don't think I've seen one about movies in a while (unless I missed it on page 1 ![:))](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cheesy.png) . So have at it! Here are some from me: *I'm just not a big fan of the current wave of comic book movies. I like Spider-Man when it came out in 2002, but it has seemed like overkill for quite some time. There are also WAY too many origin story movies that have come out recently (though I think people would agree with me on that). Oddly enough I enjoy reading comics and love super heroes. *Attack of the Clones >>> Revenge of the Sith. Also, I hate it how a lot of people say all the prequels are bad. The Phantom Menace was the only real stinker. Although I admit that the new concepts introduced like midichlorians were pretty lame. *Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull honestly wasn't that bad. Also, while the nuke the fridge scene was unintentionally hilarious, people's overeactions to it were even funnier. *I generally don't get why so many people love Tina Fey, but have found her funny from time to time. *Kristen Wiig doesn't deserve all of the praise she got for Bridesmaids. It is a good movie and she deserves credit for her part in developing it, but if someone else was plugged into her role it could have improved it.

The Lord of the Rings movies were dull and uninteresting. I would actually say they were "boring" but then someone would comment about how I don't understand movies or something. Well guess what? They were slow and plodding and none of the characters besides Sam were interesting. They all existed to say expository dialogue and do a bunch of battle fights that I couldn't care less about because it never ever felt like there was something at loss...only with Sam and Frodo. Nothing about these movies made me appreciate the art of filmmaking, in fact I think it was a step in the wrong direction.

*I hate the super-soft flaccid penis indie-rock that scores any movie shot in the pacific northwest these days. Even movies I otherwise really enjoy like "Sleepwalk With Me" and "Safety Not Guaranteed," just have this terribly wussy score the entire film. I don't care how accurate it is to that geographic location, it's really a deterrent to my enjoyment.
*Me and You and Everyone We Know is the most overrated film of the 2000s. Forced quirkiness as a vessel for ugly people romantic fiction is the only thing less appealing than a snuff film to me.
*The first Spider-man has aged the best of all the Spider-man films, and I loved the second one in theaters.
*Anybody answering their phone at the movies should be sterilized. I'm not being hyperbolic, anybody that selfish and daft needs their genetic line stopped NOW.
*The large soda at the movies ban in New York City is hilariously awesome.

Citizen Kaine is THE most over rated, boring, uninteresting, and lame movie ever to grace the silver screen. People who think Lord of the Rings are boring movies, have never had to sit through this plodding piece of garbage.
There's never been a good zombie movie ever.
Gremlins is pure nightmare fuel, and the design of the monsters is one of the most terrifying to date.
The design of the Hulk in Incredible Hulk was far superior in every way to the design of him in Avengers.
The Incredibles is by far, a better movie than either Cars movie or the Toy Story movies.
How to Train Your Dragon, and the Kung Fu Panda movies are better than anything Pixar has put out.
Gangster movies are all pretty much universally stupid.

Don't really know how unpopular any of these are. We'll see.
- Road to Perdition is easily the best comic book adaptation, bar none.
- Leonardo DiCaprio has been decent, but I don't think he's been awesome in any movie I've seen except Catch Me If You Can
- The only character in Scott Pilgrim vs. The World who deserved to be cheered and survive at the end was Knives. Every other major character was an insufferable ass.
- I would say that Pixar really only deserves two of their best animated picture oscars, but I have to give them a third just because 2007 was just an awful movie for animated films so Ratatouille has to win by default.
- On that same note, while Hayao Miyazaki probably does deserve an Oscar, it wouldn't be for the movie he got one for. Had Disney not messed up with the distribution, he should have gotten one last year.
- Transformers: The Movie was just a straight up bad movie. The only good part was that song, and even that's overrated.
- The Dark Knight didn't deserve a Best Picture nomination, it wasn't really even the best super hero movie of the year. The Dark Knight Rises deserved it even less.
- Even if the next two Hobbit movies are three times as good as the first, they would really only rise to being decent at best.

People who think Lord of the Rings are boring movies, have never had to sit through this plodding piece of garbage. I'd gladly watch a 24 hour loop of Citizen Kane over the course of a month before ever watching LOTR again. Gangster movies are all pretty much universally stupid. Gangster? Or Gangsta? Because in both cases, there's a lot of really good movies out there; Little Caesar (1931) The Public Enemy (1931) Smart Money (1931) Scarface (1932) The Petrified Forest (1936) Dead End (1937) Angels with Dirty Faces (1938) Invisible Stripes (1939) The Roaring Twenties (1939) High Sierra (1941) White Heat (1949) Scarface (1983) although certainly overrated Goodfellas (1990) Road to Perdition (2002) Boyz n the Hood (1991) Deep Cover (1992) Juice (1992) Menace II Society (1993)

Agreed. I f***ing HATED that movie. That's probably one of the most despicable movies I have watched in quite some time, it's up there with my hatred of The Deer Hunter.

Boyz n the Hood (1991) Deep Cover (1992) Juice (1992) Menace II Society (1993) Never, ever see Juice or Menace II Society on the big screen. The overacting is so bad in a theatrical space that it absolutely ruins the film. Stick to watching it on the small screen, preferably on VHS copies.

The Dark Knight Rises was leagues better than The Avengers, and I went into both movies expecting to think the opposite. Better story, better acting, better villian, better pacing. Better.

The Dark Knight Rises was a very mediocre way to end the series. The whole 8 years thing wasn't needed, as wasn't spending 3 months in Gotham waiting for a bomb to go off. While inconsistencies and plot holes normally don't bother me in movies, this movie just seemed like it didn't care enough to write around them. I hated both Bane's look and even moreso the silly voice, he sounded like a cartoon walrus stuck in a barrel. It's pretty clear that Nolan just wanted to wrap the series up, since it was probably his weakest movie thus far. It wasn't bad, and it had some good moments, but completely pales in comparison to Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.

None of the Nolan Batman movies are anywhere near as good as Iron Man 1.
I genuinely don't understand the hate that Godfather Part 3 gets.
I don't care how good the movie is, if it's history is wrong than that's a point against the movie. It's not that hard to find out the truth about what really happened in the story that you're trying to tell. Not doing so is lazy on the moviemakers' part.
Carlito's Way is a lot better than Scarface.
I, for the life of me, don't understand the love that Toy Story 3 gets. To me, it was just a rehash of the Toy Story 2 plot. There really wasn't anything unique about that movie at all and I think nostalgia really influences people's opinion of that movie.
"Oscar-Bait" is more often than not a term used for a movie that beat out one of somebody's favorites in an Acadamy Award category.

Wow, I haven't seen too many people that share my opinion of that film. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) Personally, I give them kudos for the art style as the aliens looked really cool. But, if you want me to get into your story and like your main character, don't make him a HUGE f***ing douchebag that makes me want to get his comeuppance more than anything in the world.

Are they really comparable though? They went head-to-head in the box office, but I don't think you can say one is better than the other considering The Avengers has so many main characters and TDKR has pretty much just one or two.

Count me in. All I wanted out of that movie was to see Sharlto Copley's character get annihilated by an alien every time he came onscreen.

They're comparable in the way that any two summer blockbusters are. One being an unapologetic big dumb action movie and the other being a big dumb action movie with an identity crisis gives them more common ground than you'd think. I mean, I happen to think it's the exact and total opposite from Ichi, but you can compare them. Also, count me in on the District 9 bandwagon. I was really disappointed by that movie after all the hype my friends gave it.
