It`s funny that everytime I tell that story, Everyone says the exact same thing.
A couple of weeks ago, I went to a club/lounge and since the coat check was full, I decided to leave mu coat on a table in front of the DJ until it gets free again. A couple of minutes, some drunk girl came and her head herself on my coat and when her friend came to take her and leave, she got up and takes my coat with her, which I quickly managed to grab back. Knowing she was drunk, I did not think much ot it so I put it back on the table. Then, not even a minute later, She came back and tried to take it again, but this time she was holding on very tightly and was really aggressively pulling it from me when I tried to take it back. Luckily, her friend was sober enough to stop her and take her away but I still found the whole thing odd.
Funny thing is every time I tell my friends this story, they all tell me that I should have smacked her. Technically, she would have deserved it, but I know how most girls are if you physically attack them, whether you are right or wrong.

Nope. She wasn't attacking you or anything there was no need to resort to physicality.

Nope. She wasn't attacking you or anything there was no need to resort to physicality. Exactly. Being drunk and stupid isn't enough to warrant a physical attack, especially when there's already someone else trying to help resolve the situation peacefully.

Do people actually think you should smack her or are they just joking? I think it would be funny if you had smacked her but I wouldn't actually want you to put yourself in a situation where you could be thrown out of the club and later brought up on charges of battery from the girl. You did what you should do in that situation. Good job.

BTW, Don't get me wrong, I am not a violent person and I would never consider doing this. It's just hard to believe that most people are telling me the same answer. I really hope they were not serious.

Would you have smacked the bouncers her sober friend would have brought back?

Hitting a nonviolent drunk is the lowest thing you could possibly do.

Only if after doing so, you apologized, then went and promptly knocked your son down.

Absolutely not. And I'm guessing your friends weren't being entirely serious when they suggested that, or at least I hope so.

Would you have smacked the bouncers her sober friend would have brought back? I'm actually in good terms with the bouncers in the club. But like I said, I would never consider slapping a drunk person.

Hitting a nonviolent drunk is the lowest thing you could possibly do. Hitting a nonviolent female drunk to boot. This reminds me of something that happened to me a few months back: I was in a bar with my best friend, my girlfriend of the time and his girlfriend. Some girl came over that my friend knew had slept with another of our friends, and he was a bit tipsy and she had those stupid drawn on eyebrows so he was an idiot, licked his thumb and wiped one off. She actually didnt react too much, but her bulldog friend was crazy and drunk and she started kicking off big time. This was during the time when Daniel Bryan and Kane had just won the tag team titles and were going through the "I'M THE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS" routine. I'm a very passive guy, I don't fight and I don't do confrontation, so I jokingly stepped in while she was going off on one and said "hold on, I know what your problem is, you think you're the tag team champions but I'M THE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS". She punched me in the face. She was actually bigger than me, I felt like slapping her but didn't. She literally got dragged out of the place, screaming and clawing against the brick walls with her fingernails.

Yes you should have. You should have smacked her right on the ass and said "daddy's home"

It's gross to put your spit on someone's face. Not punch them gross, but definitely she could've spit in your friend's face in return and been justified.
Regarding slapping someone, no, that's assault. You shouldn't do that unless they've assaulted you first.

As everyone else has pointed out, no you should not have smacked her. And no she didn't technically deserve it.

I'd have given her the coat. Except that it was winter and very cold outside. Plus, I already have given some girl my favourite hat a couple of years ago.

No that would be a disproportionate response.
She didn't physically attack you so you don't physically attack her.
She did try to steal your clothing so you should have stole some of hers.
