...who was the boss' daughter, how does that not go horribly wrong for him? Considering: Vince's massive temper, Vince knowing that wrestlers have a history of being notorious womanizers, and the fact it would upset the locker-room with rampant paranoia about favoritism. I haven't heard much stories about this, but I would loved to have been a fly on the way when Hunter asked about or told his boss about dating his daughter. "Hey Vince, now try not to get mad or anything...but a funny thing happened between your daughter and I..." it's still mind-blowing to me that McMahon didn't try to rip off his head right then and there. Am I the only one amused by this?

Well why do you think he drugged her and married her in Vegas? It's hard to say to no once the deed's done.

Steph talked about this a while back (might've been on the Howard Stern Show) and I'm pretty sure she said Vince made them split up at some point, not long after they'd began their relationship, to see how much they wanted to be together. When they both couldn't deal without seeing each other then he knew how much they cared for each other and gave them his blessing.
Sorry the details are so sketchy I only watched that interview once and it was a long time ago.

I can see Vince just going with it because 'hey, at least it's not Test.'

And it was all behind his fiancé Chyna's back. Surely that's not the thing a father looks favourably on.

Even though the above are joke answers I can imagine Vince thinking that she could do a lot worse than HHH.
Makes you wonder what would have happened if she fell for somebody else, would big daddy V be main eventing WM? How would he react to Raven? Would the wellness policy be implemented much sooner because he didn't trust X-Pac? Could he deal with the jokes if she ended up with The Godfather?

In all seriousness I think that if it were someone that wasn't going to be a main eventer, Vince would have made it more difficult for them to date. HHH had been getting a strong push, was going to be a future champion and had been in booking meetings and so forth with Vince for a few years prior to dating Steph so Vince probably had a good idea what he was all about by then. In short he felt that he could trust him.

In short he felt that he could trust him. I imagine if Steph fell for a dud midcarder that guy would be quietly positioned into a cushy but non-influential office role. HHH was going to be a top guy in the company regardless, though maybe not in a front office capacity.

On the McMahon DVD it was explained that Vince actually set them up in the first place, then in typical Vince fashion changed his mind when they starting getting serious or something similar.

And it was all behind his fiancé Chyna's back. Surely that's not the thing a father looks favourably on. To be fair, would you want to break things off with someone like Chyna?
