Don't mind the current NXT (Paige and Emma ftw) but I do miss the old NXT and by old NXT I mean Pros/Rookie pairings and whacky NXT Redemption. Even though some of the stuff on it was crazy and at times awful, I loved it. Was nice to have a show that wasn't full of the usual SRS main-eventers and where Superstars and Divas could actually have a character.
Goofy/adorable blonde Aksana, Eli Cottonwood's infamous promo, the Maxine/Derrick Bateman/Johnny Curtis love-triangle, "SUBMISSION WRESTLING!", CM Punk's commentary and THE GENESIS OF MCGILLICUTTTY were some of my favourite parts.

The format change screwed a lot of people over. That's all I have to say.

The death knell was when Low Ki treated the ring like it was a swimming pool. What a joke.

I miss it too, they could use something like it now to build guys like Jake Carter, CJ Parker, Jason Jordon, and other generic guys who aren't being used.

To me, NXT really was about all the weird little moments like "Avast! Virus Database", Lucky Cannon's heel turn getting a "Oh, so now he's a bad guy..." reaction from Cole, JTG attempting to thug-out "The World's Most Boring Man" Jacob Novak, the Genesis of McGillicutty, Blonde Aksana, THE GONG, all of those weird and wonderful things...
I want more Weird in WWE.

I'll never forget Michael Cole overselling Curtis' wedding and pretending to care about it. "OH MY GOD A WEDDING CRASH IN A WRESTLING SHOW THIS IS SO UNEXPECTED LADIES AND GENTLEMEN CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?" Michael Cole's home was NXT. He was at his best there.

I kind of miss the Wild and Young theme and some of the early challenges they did before it became retarded.

NXT Redemption was awesome, just because of the pure ridiculousness of it, such as Tyson Kidd and Yoshi Tatsu feuding over an action figure, leading to dark Yoshi Tatsu, which was just facepaint. Also, the Bateman/Maxine/Curtis love triangle, and creepy Johnny Curtis.

I love current NXT but damn I miss the weird and wonderful NXT Same here. I was hoping that with with RAW being moved to three hours and NXT becoming developmental, that all of the NXT5 regulars would've been used on the main shows (or at least SmackDown) where they could do all of that same stuff as comedy filler. Actually I think SmackDown should be restructured into the new NXT Redemption. The entire WWE programming line-up needs to be restructured imo. Ideally it should be, RAW = Main eventers and upper midcard. The "Wrestling is SRS BZNS" show SmackDown = Midcard WTF-ery. NXT = Developmental show You can take some of the main event guys, and take certain aspects of their characters and limit them to SD. Like Miz can be a bit more serious on RAW, but be Your Mom OHHHHH on SD, or Sheamus can be a serious brawler on RAW, but be Arse Fella Arse on SD.

Yeah, I miss the original NXT format, where they actually had Pros that were credible guys like World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho and CM Punk and guys they planned on pushing like Wade Barrett on the show.
The first few weeks of NXT were some of the best television this company produced in the last decade, but as soon as the first challenge (the keg carry) aired, it was downhill from there.

I haven't been able to watch since they took it off Sci Fi but here it's great. Is the only way to watch it if you have Hulu Plus?

Honestly, the only one who got a major raw deal out of NXT Redemption ending was arguably Maxine. Who pretty much left before anything could be done with her, I think she left before NXT even wrapped up.
Kaitlyn's now the Face of the Divas' Division.
AJ's now one of the most highlighted characters of WWE's programming in the last year. Had several major storylines revolving around her.
Titus and Darren are now arguably a highlight of the shows and clearly are being groomed.
Johny Curtis is now going to (re)debut at Wrestlemania against Chris Jericho, where he may in fact beat a former World Champion. And, he has a lovely gimmick in the vein of Goldust that could launch him into IC title contendership pretty quickly. WWE clearly has plans for him.
Bateman is debatable but before he got hurt there seemed to be plans for him and the company seems to like him, and seems like they'll have ideas for him. So I could see him upon his return getting plugged into something big.
The non-rookie NXT regulars like Yoshi and Tyson, and Cutty, and co. all are stilled featured fairly often on Superstars, occasionally on shows like Slam & Main Event and RAW & Smackdown. While one could argue they had storylines on NXT, honestly, they didn't by the end. By the last few months of the show it was clear that the rookies had all the spotlight on them and that the rest were filler and/or a platform for the rookies to stand on.
I think part of the problem is that we're used to how WWE has done things for the past decade when it's obvious they're now doing things differently. Alot of talent is now waiting in the wings, sometimes for months, before management strikes with something big in mind for them. Many of the new talent, if you've noticed, have debuted in big or at least meaningful ways this past year.
Big E., Fandango, The Shield, Antonio, Sandow, all of them have been quickly and heavily inserted into the bigger scheme of things. One could debate the PTP were too for a tag team till they repeatedly had set-backs somewhat derail them, Washington's outburst and the flubbing of commentary.
