Came across this one the other day, and my God do I love it.
As somebody who's really grown to hate nostalgia, due to people's inability (I understand it's not a new concept, either) to separate the good from the bad, I LOVE this video. I was born in '91, there were some good shows - but there was a lot of bad. And, in my honest opinion, there's more good now than there was back then.
But I digress. FAN, what's your opinion on the video?

Ugh.
Videos like these make me wish we could un-invent youtube.
These 'reviewers' always sound the same and I guess try to be as annoying as possible with their cadences?

90's nostalgia can get stupid and annoying, but I think 80's nostalgia is far far worse. Especially when it comes to the cartoons

Check out this thread I made: officialfan.proboards.com/thread/467407Also, this isn't a bad video, but I get more of a kick out of the Ukinojoe one, mostly because the guy is a parody of these nostalgic freaks. Let me just say that I think that it's fun to relive memories from your past every now and then, but it's bad when one makes it his/her whole life and can't seem to let go.

My personal opinion on nostalgia kicks like this is that people hate the current cartoons because they are adults and just can't accept that. I was a huge toon head until I was 23 and unless my daughter has something on I don't seek them out anymore, I am 25. But i still have fond memories of the things I watched until that point. I even slept with cartoon Network on to wake up to King of the Hill.

I'm not trying to pick a fight, but I just can't grasp the concept of "hating" nostalgia. Why hate something harmless that makes people happy? Why force them to "remember the bad?" There probably isn't a person alive that doesn't have fond memories of a time when life was simpler, and if there is, I feel awfully bad for them.
I'll argue 'til I'm blue in the face that the worst shows of the '50s through the '90s are better than the worst shows now. I was born in the early '80s, and I can recall "the bad," but the bar has been substantially lowered. The worst exploitation TV got then was trashy daytime talk shows like Geraldo. Honey Boo Boo they were not.
The only thing that bothers me is the idea of "I was born in the 1998... lol '90s kids!!11"
'90s kids were all born in the '80s, and maybe the very early '90s.

Honestly, the guy in this vid is way more obnoxious and seems to be taking this whole thing way more seriously than people who go on about nostalgia. I honestly haven't come across that many people who genuinely believe that everything was better back in the days. And frankly, if people prefer their old stuff to the new stuff... so what? How exactly does it bother anyone? Immediate thought on seeing this thread - "DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE!" If you watch Linkara you'll understand why. that's what I thought this thread would be about. now I'm disappointed. Same here.

Remember Bobby's World? It was a good show. You're to young to remember. It was a good show! We had Nintendo games, bowling alleys, pizza party's, McDonald's, skating rinks, ice cream, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, Elmers glue, safety scissors, tootsie rolls, combos, swimming pools, OJ Simpson, Green Day. We had Green Day.

There probably isn't a person alive that doesn't have fond memories of a time when life was simpler, and if there is, I feel awfully bad for them. Its not nostalgia that people are hating on but rather how annoying it is when people get blinded by it to the point of slagging off everything today while forgetting that not everything was so great back then.
