news.ninemsn.com.au/national/2013/04/05/10/57/o-farrell-stunned-at-asbestos-sentenceFor those that don't bother with the link. A truck driver who pleaded guilty to dumping asbestos outside of a day care center avioded going to jail. A close friend of mine lost her father to asbestos related cancer in 2011 so this hits close to home for me. What really gets me is that he has 8 previous convictions for illegal dumping & a further 22 penalty notices for dumping. The only way an asshole like this would learn is to be locked up. Sorry to go all Ghidorah on you guys but I just needed to vent.

Yeah, that's pretty screwed up. I just don't understand why such blatant threats to people's health and the environment are treated so lightly, especially when by doing so, the guy broke a court order. He's literally saying "yeah, I was condemned before but I don't care and I'll keep doing it because I get ridiculously light penalties. Eat my s***, everyone!".
Many people spend years in jail for far lesser offences.

I've always subscribed to the belief that Jail isn't meant to be punishment for you, it's meant to protect society from you.
This is a perfect example where society would be protected from a tool-bag that simply doesn't care.

Sorry to go all Ghidorah on you guys... thats not going "Ghidorah". to go ghidorah, the story would have to take an over-the-top sick and twisted turn, such as the driver force fed one of the kids the asbestos while molesting them
