If they were just going to have him do the Shellshock on Mark Henry anyway, why didn't he just win the match with it the first time?
Not a very good match and very clunky booking.

Well the Shield won, so he can still be the one to finally end them. Except by then he'll have lost so much momentum he'll be coming out to crickets and no one will give a shit. One receipt four months after the fact doesn't make up for choking at that many PPVs. This.

Just seemed kinda pointless. Why not just have Ryback win? It's not like Henry looked super strong since he pinned Ryback on what was essentially a fluke and then got left laying.
Also, do we REALLY need to see that match again?

I mean they aren't making him look like a credible threat. He has lost 6 straight PPV matches, and got pinned at 3 of them. I don't this as Ryback "not looking like a credible threat" at all. The only thing his 6 PPV losses have shown is that he is going to be WWE Champion and a fixture in the main event in the near future. Look at the 6 losses: Hell in a Cell: WWE Title match against champion for almost a year CM Punk. Was definitely going to win until Brad Maddox interfered. Survivor Series: Same scenario except also involving John Cena of all people. Again definitely going to win until The Shield interfered. TLC: 6-man tag match where he did not take the pin. Royal Rumble: Final 2. On his first rumble match. Elimination Chamber: Another 6-man tag match, except he did take the pin. First "cleanish" loss. Wrestlemania: First clean one-on-one loss. And it's not like Mark Henry has been booked like a chump recently either.

I think they are trying to get kill the faith the crowd has in him in preparation for a heel turn. I understand how facepalm inducing that last sentence was, but this is WWE we're talking here. "WWE: If it ain't Cena, it don't mean jack".

I think people (I'm talking about more casual viewers) will start looking at ryback like a choker since he has failed in every big time match he has been in. He has no big win as of yet and when ever he gets the spotlight put on him, he loses. It's hard to see ryback as this big monster when he keeps losing these spotlight matches.

Whooptee do. Doesn't change the fact he lost. Again. Don't know why they gave him the rocket ship only to snatch it away. But what are people more likely to remember? The end to the match or what happened after the match? What WWE wants them to. For now that will probably be the after match stuff but 2 months from now?

That's true. It all depends on what kind of story WWE wants to tell coming out of the match. Or attempt to tell. Or sloppily put together one week before the next PPV.

The crowd was actively cheering for Henry over Ryback at the start of the match. Ryback got a pop for lifting a Henry but that was it. Really, the only thing he has going for him right now is the "Feed Me More" chant.

I don't watch enough to really know how they've been booking Ryback, but the ending to the match and the post-match angle were just absolutely pointless. You have Ryback pick the big monster up, but Henry escape, gets a quick pin out of it...and then you have Ryback pick him up again to hit his finisher.
Um...did Mark Henry need the win? Was there a World Title match stip or something? Just felt pointless.

The only "shock" of the night for me was how they decided to have him lose.
I like Henry and everything, but they had a great chance for an up and comer to have his moment, and they blew it yet again.

The only reason I can think they had Henry win is that they are pushing to face Cena, and they didn't want him to lose clean right before the feud.

I agree that if they want Ryback as a future main eventer, he should have won. However, with the way WrestleMania went (and did last year as well), I wouldn't have seen it as him having his moment. It seemed like anything that wasn't Punk/Taker, Brock/HHH, or Cena/Rock didn't matter. I'd say the same thing for last year as well. The IC title feud was all about Big Show finally having his Wrestlemania moment, yet fast forward one year later, no one seems to remember or care.

Once again, WWE's booking is ridiculous. Henry gained NOTHING from this win. Ryback still hasn't got a win on PPP since July.

It looked to me and my friend watching that they went to a quick finish as Ryback looked to be favoring his right arm(bicep area)after the Meathook clothesline.

That's what I was thinking. I was hoping for a squash, with either Ryback or Henry going over. This match should have been 3 minutes tops, and it was definitely the worst of the show. And they had a great build to it, but it's that heavyweight MMA fight. The best ones don't go long, and the worst end up with them hugging it out. Basically, this was one of those.

Stupid WWE. They ruined Ryback and he clearly is no threat to anyone in the uppercard anymore. (g)
