Was anyone else disappointed by the lack of backstage segments? As in similar to the everyday backstage interactions on Raw and Smackdown, not the terrible attempted comedy or dancing skits.
With so much of the roster left off the card, I thought having backstage segments involving some of them would have been nice in that they at least still get to be a part of Wrestlemania. This is especially so for Rhodes Scholars, Prime Time Players and Kaitlyn and Antonio Cesaro, who I find really entertaining outside the ring. Instead, they didn't show up at all.

I hated last years backstage segment with Foley, santino and fish guys. I was surprised there were no backstage interviews or anything though

Yeah, tonight's show was so brutally boring that I would've enjoyed a goofy Santino backstage skit, and I usually hate those. Anything to have broken up the monotony.
But I was especially outraged at the lack of anything with the Rhodes Scholars.

They didn't even have any interview segments.
Give me something backstage, for goodness sakes.

I usually don't care for them, but I think it could have broken down the night a little bit. Maybe Santino and Backlund doing something. 2 minutes wouldn't kill the night.
The problem is...where to work it in. Besides the commercials, it was a pretty tightened night . Maybe cut Zeb's stupid "boo me because I'm a racist" schtick short, maybe it would have worked.

I'm more surprised by the outcry of PPL on here complaining about no segments. Usually that is mega-heat around these parts.
That being said, Some stupid skits & a divas filler match may have done wonders for the show. I'm usually a fan of the fun sketches & was a little bummed that we didn't see one.

More proof that something got really screwed up when it came to time management. No backstage segments AT ALL is extremely, extremely rare in WWE.

As much as I hate that little bastard and his lame skits, I would've taken a Hornswoggle segment, over that long and plodding Mark Henry/Ryback match, or the first half of Brock/HHH.

I didn't miss them like I'm saying "Man, I wish there had been some backstage segments!" But I am missing them in that I kept anticipating that they would cut to backstage and see a random comedy thing or some of the numerous authority figures or an interview to set up one of the coming matches. Once the Jack/ADR match started I realized there weren't going to be any backstage segments at all and then I was confused because I started wondering why there were no backstage.
Has there ever been another WM with no backstage segments? Maybe 4 I guess?
This may have contributed to some people feeling the show was boring because there were no scene changes all night which is less than dynamic. Not sure if I've ever seen a WWE show ever where they did that.

Has there ever been another WM with no backstage segments? Maybe 4 I guess? I just watched Wrestlemania 4 a few weeks ago, and there were several wacky backstage segments. Mostly with Bob Uecker and Vanna White with Mean Gene. And there was a great and crazy Hulk Hogan promo backstage as well.

Between the lack of backstage shenanigans, authority figure stuff and the use of a discussion panel in the internet pre/post shows to analyse the matches, this is the closest WWE has come to having a "legitimate sport" presentation for a long time... But it was so out of nowhere and unexpected.

I don't think I've ever enjoyed a backstage segment at Mania, so this was a welcome surprise for me. It did feel odd though.

It made the pacing of everything feel weird. I'm not bothered about missing Santino smashing up crabs or whatever, but a few interviews/guys warming up and walking backstage would have been nice. You had the Barrett/Snooki/Miz thing and the Henry interview on the pre-show and then nothing.

I have to say I really loved the lack of backstage segments. I always wanted them to saw save those for free tv and on paid shows focus on Wrestling and they did it. I really enjoyed that fact.

I enjoyed the lack of them, but I wish they would have replaced them with actual interviews (i.e. with an interviewer) or more matches, instead of all of those "lets give ourselves a pat on the back" spots.

I was expecting at least the Shield bragging, or Big Show ranting or something.
Instead we got HHH emerging from Castle Greyskull covered in Man Gravy.
