I have absolutely no recollection of how DX split up back in the Summer of 2000. I remember Billy Gunn being kicked out, and I remember X-Pac and Road Dogg feuding with the Dudleys....then nothing. I don't recall there being any big blowoff that ended this version of DX. Anyone care to refresh my memory?

X-Pac and Road Dogg basically tagged for a bit after the McMahon-Helmsley Factime dissolved (Tori was injured when Bubba put her through a table at KOTR) before X-Pac turned on Road Dogg in the summer, leading to a match at Summerslam, turning the latter face and his eventual team with K-Kwik. X-Pac was injured in a feud with Jericho in September and disappeared until he returned to create legendary stable X-Factor in 2001.

Wasn't there a DX reunion for a Survivor Series match with K-Kwik joining up with them?
I dont think the announcers actually aknowledged it as a DX reunion though.

HHH had problems with the Radicals and did a DX reunion with Gunn, Road Dogg, and Chyna against them on Raw in the fall, before they did the same match with K-Kwik in place of Triple H at Survivor Series.

Angle came out and attacked HHH after the match and when HHH came to the ring and interfered in the Angle & Rikishi vs. Austin match (Rock was taken out before the match backstage, by HHH obviously though we never saw that) we assumed he was coming to attack Angle, which he did. But then he went after Austin and the rest is history.

They also had some wacky feud over the rights to the DX name, which they promptly forgot

Like all things from that 'era', you need a scorecard, pencils, a ton of erasers and an addiction to some illegal substances to make heads and tails out of it.
The one thing I always wondered was why was DX put back together in 1999... beyond just trying to make them Triple H's 'Four Horsemen with Two Hot Babes' group

It makes sense, especially since the McMahons eventually ended up in the mix as Edge and Christian put it, the Fac-gime. What's really bizarre about it is how the crowds still went crazy for Road Dogg and he still involved the crowd in his sing along entrance despite wrestling as the heel.
