The only reason I remember was because I was expecting Kharma to destroy her at last year's extreme rules.

I remember one of them holding it sometime before Punk's pipebomb, but I don't know which one.

And Michael Cole corrected him by saying one of The Bellas did, when actually both of them are former champions. What fountains of misinformation.

The fact they did not know summarises precisely why the Divas division should be scrapped immediately. It has been a joke for as long as I can remember. The last time I cared was WM22 when Mickie v Trish was arguably the best hyped women's match ever. Kharma could have worked, but even then, who was there for her to demolish that anyone cared about her demolishing? I honestly think the division should be disbanded, unless they actually want to employ wrestlers instead of pretty people.

Here's the thing. You can have pretty people who can also wrestle. Plenty of divas WWE has brought in are considered by most of their audience to be attractive. Trish, Lita, Mickie, Melina, AJ, Paige, and so forth. And there's something important about wrestling. Although sexuality doesn't have to be over-the-top (and shouldn't unless you want it to distract or detract from the wrestling), pro wrestling is an inherently sexual form of performance art. Guys or girls are grappling in outfits that are revealing, both for the sake of convenience as athletic gear and to show off their bodies to the audiences who watch them. And most of the guys WWE employs are considered by female fans to be pretty attractive on the whole, so it's not as if having attractive women wrestling would be a one-way street. What WWE fails to understand--and what they should understand--is that you can have attractive women who can also wrestle. All of those ladies I mentioned? None of them are considered bad wrestlers. Paige and AJ haven't done a whole lot in the public eye and Trish is considered to be pretty average as a ring worker, but they're all proficient workers at worst. Trying to hide their wrestling and objectifying them is pointless, because they're good enough in the ring to have good, entertaining matches, and like I said, sex objectification can interfere in the wrestling. At the same time, there's no point in pretending that they're not attractive women, because they are, and guys notice (I may not fancy AJ but I'd be a damn liar if I said that "Boo, she's ugly" or "No guy likes her"). Rather, the two attributes can be blended together. Instead of WWE's current tactic of PG-Purdah where women aren't allowed to be sexy (yet guys are running around in their undies) and the wrestling is minimalized, why not maximize both? It's not a new tactic, and it's worked for them before. So why have they moved away from it, and why aren't they using it now?

Brie won the title from Eve around April of 2011 and lost it to Kelly Kelly on Viewer's Choice Raw about 2 months later. This match was famous for helping Mason Ryan win a poll over Sin Cara in a "Who would you rather see wrestle Evan Bourne right now" poll, which should have led to a gimmick overhaul for Mason Ryan into "The People's Choice."
Nikki won the title from Beth Phoenix in April of 2012 after Phoenix got "injured" during their match and dropped it to a surprise return at Extreme Rules in Kharma Layla. Funny enough I actually called that one.

JBL doesn't know what went on in WWE, so it's the Divas division that should be scrapped, rather than him as a commentator? Great logic there.

I have enough trouble remembering who the current Diva's champion is, nevermind the lineage.

I'm saying that it's interesting the immediate reaction was to scrap the Divas who have done nothing wrong, rather than the commentator who didn't know his facts. Way to not read my post there.

He also pronounced Blagojevich wrong (which I couldn't help but chuckle at, even though I'm sure most non-Chocagoans would get wrong)

It's a 3 hour show. giving 5 minutes to useless Diva wrestling is the least they can do to kill time.

He also forgot that the Basham Brothers were tag team champions...while they were in his cabinet!!
The whole commentary during that match was a complete disgrace - just reinforcing the misogynistic, sexist bullshit that the WWE has been putting out for years. f*** them all.
