So, Vevo is doing a stream of all of will.i.am's new record, which contains this song: "Let's Go".
However, it sounds strikingly similar to this song by Arty & Mat Zo, entitled "Rebound"
*Skip to about 1 minute in for the similarity*
According to Arty's twitter, usage for the sample was never cleared by the record label who owns the rights to the song.
So, yeah, this could get ugly. Most of the time I give the benefit of the doubt to the musician's who are doing the "ripping off", simply because there's only so many sounds in the music world. However, something like this where it's identical, I'm more inclined to believe that it's stolen.
So, FAN, what say you? Coincidence or blatant ripoff on will.i.am's behalf?

If it's a matter of a sample needing to be cleared, it's not about whether will.i.am's song is a "coincidence" or a "ripoff".

I can't imagine that Will.I.am could be dumb enough not to clear a sample. Or if he is that dumb, someone at his record label isn't that dumb.
I mean come on. At that level how is this even an issue?
