Last Tuesday In downtown Auckland I went to see the new GI joe film with some mates. I haven't been to the Auckland CBD for a few months and I noticed that where there used to be big borders book store, since shutting down the top floor is now a Carls Jr. Dispute having been in New Zealand for than 18 months I haven't eaten in one yet so we figured why the hell not.
Can't say that I was too impressed. While their honey pokey shake and criss cut fires were good however the burgers looked gross, their French Fries were soggy and everything was way overpriced.
So I can't say that I'm really inclined to go back there as in the area there is a Burger king,Subway,Wendys and Maccas all which are cheeper than Carl's Jr .
Out of all the fast food restaurant brands that could of entered NZ why this one as what is exactly is the restaurant's selling point, what separates it from every other generic fast food joint in existent?

I only have experience with it as Hardee's, but... Yeah, I'm not too clear on what exactly its selling point is. I miss when used to sell fried chicken, but it hasn't done that for years and wasn't as good as KFC anyway.

The selling point, I think, is that while most fast food restaurants have gone the other way and tried to add healthier and more varied options, Carl's Jr. basically went the "We're men, he's even bigger and fattier burgers" ala Heart Attack Grill (but without the nurses).

The Carl's Jr. here is easily the best burger joint in town, excluding a local place that is just heavenly. The size of their burgers on TV tend to be the exact same size you get in person, and they're damn good, too. Especially the Western Bacon Six Dollar Burger. I get it without barbecue sauce, but that burger RULES.

When I was out Californy-way with my then-girlfriend, I ate at a Carl's Jr. I had the Western Six Dollar Burger.
It made me feel like a man. It probably took a year off my life, but I felt like a man.

We don't have them here in NJ. But we do still have a few Stewart's drive ups.

I don't like their food either. I've eaten at Hardee's a couple times, which I believe is the same thing, and I've never been impressed. Their bizarre sexualized commercials are very annoying, and as far as I know that is what their selling point is.

Overpriced? I'm guessing they are priced differently over there. Here in America they are pretty much the same cost as bk or mcdonalds. In fact the coupons they give out are sometimes a steal.
I actually prefer their char broiled burgers over burger king. And I think they do a pretty good job with the ingredients over the beef patties. I really like the guacamole they use.

Its Hardees where I'm at and it is pretty good. The prices are in line with Mcdonalds so that isn't an issue.
And the coupons they send out are damn good like whatever new burger they have has a bogo free offer and a 2 piece chicken meal with a side biscuit and drink for 3.49....
