Goddamn lazy parents. They see video games as something to plant their kid in front of, so they don't have to do any actual parenting. No doubt he got that game just so his kid would shut the f*** up.

That the guy was told the game was for those 18 or older when he rented it then complained about the content not being appropriate for his kid is ridiculous. If you tried not renting it to him he'd have a fit and try to get you fired. The guy is an idiot, too bad it's the idiots that tend to breed the most.

Exactly, I always think it's funny when completely unreasonable customers make that "threat", in my opinion it's usually a favor. I work in a resteraunt and you just can't please some people, considering we do good business, I don't ever think it's a loss to lose one unreasonable customer when they just aren't worth the hastle(unless they actually spend alot of money regularly at your business). and they usually don't. if they're a regular 9.5 times out of ten they tret you with respect because they know you. the people who make the "I'm never coming here again" excuse are always people you've never seen before. Sometimes the regulars might want a little extra attention, but are usually very understanding in almost every case and rarely complain, if they do they are very reasonable about it. And it's exactly how you said, they show you respect, because they know you.

Well there is a poster right in front of counter which explains that video games that are rated with restricted ratings are not suitable for children under those ages. Personal experience: The bigger the sign, the more people will ignore it. I've seen people look at a locked door with a 3'x3' sign that says "CLOSED" in giant letters and then insist on trying to open said door. The reverse is also true... I worked in a video store for a while, and as a joke put a small sign on the wall behind the counter that said "$20 charge for rewinding DVDs". Got 3 complaints within the week. One guy said our competitors were only charging $5. ---------------------- Another thing I had noticed is that the parents (at least, around where I live) couldn't give a rat's tuchus about violence, but were super-squeamish about ANYTHING close to sex. Didn't matter how many people died in it, if there was ONE boob it was a no-go. Don't get me started about late fees...

My question is, what kind of pansy 13 year old kid isn't mature enough to play Mortal Kombat? I played that ish when I was 8. Grow up, Peter Pan.

Wolf, do you know what site I think you'd get a real kick out of that is absolutely related to the discussion at hand? Acts of Gord. I mean, yeah, Gord was a game shop owner, but the stories still apply...

I remember when I was working for CVS as a supervisor a woman came in looking for a Christmas item we had advertised in our flyer but had long since sold out of. I told her as much but she claimed she called earlier and was told we had it in stock. I talked to the cashier she had talked to and he had gotten it confused with another item we did have in stock and that was where the mistake came from. I apologized to the woman and offered to contact a few other CVS' in the area to see if any of them had any. She threw a fit in the store, demanded I fire the cashier on the spot and then started mumbling something about reimbursing her for gas money for her wasted trip. When I refused she left saying she was gonna contact the corporate office over this.
This is sadly the end result of the "customer is always right" consumer society that we've created. While I have issues with my current job (I think I'd have issues with any occupation I wound up with short of "lottery winner"), I'm so glad to be out of retail.

I had an older couple who wanted a refund on Brokeback Mountain because they thought it was gay porn. I'm going to go out on a limb and say they've probably never watched any actual pornography in their life.

I had a woman who not only wanted a refund for "American Beauty", but demanded that we take all copies of the shelf, because of the one scene of Kevin Spacey in the shower...

At the very least, they are sensationalized for the sake of hilarity.

A got a couple of those and one person who complained about kinsey saying since there was gay kissing scene there should be a warning on cover. But this guy did rent actual gay porn but he claims he was drunk and I should of told him what he was renting.
