You know what I hate about Diva's battle royal's in general? The fact that they are not over the top rope. Would you trust Rosa Mendes to take a bump over the top rope?

Most of the divas are too weak to lift someone up that high (Rosa, Alicia), or too short to actually be able to go over the rope without it looking like they're trying (AJ). Kaitlyn and Eve did the over the top rope spot. It took them two tries, but they did it.

It's a labor for them to actually pull it off correctly because of their size and overall lack of dexterity compared to guys of similar size.

I just watched this a few minutes ago. It does define the entire division right now...absolutely nobody cares at all. I guess AJ jumping in Tamina's arms was supposed to get the fans to care or at least let them know the crowd was alive but even that failed. It must be embarrassing as hell to be a WWE diva these days. I think Rob Conway used to get more of a reaction from the crowd.

I think AJ would try to go over the top rope if given the chance. But also, should she trust someone to throw her over the top rope?
You know what the divas division needs? To be stopped completely then restarted. Everyone gets fired save for 4 people maybe, they stay off TV for 6 months (except for those doing stuff like managerial roles) and do a restart. The Divas division is the piss break match. Back in the day, the popcorn match was with two people the crowd didn't care much about, but they were still talented enough anyway and could have some sort of future. The Divas are basically the shitty match that everyone should skip because that's the best way to have an intermission. That perception will stick around for good until they completely get rid of practically everyone and start fresh.

I like how the WWE just has these random Divas Battle Royals to determine a new #1 contender. It's the only way to be #1 contender to the Divas title, I think. Divas don't have any ongoing feuds so they just say "Let's have a battle royal and start a two week feud for the Divas title!"

I think it is messed up that not even the fans in England give the Divas any kind of reaction, even Layla. 1) I doubt most people even realize she's a Brit, since she's pretty much an expat who identifies herself as an ex-NBA cheerleader after being a WWE Diva. But it certainly didn't help that the Divas all got jobber entrances so no cheap hometown pop for Layla in any case. 2) I, and I'm sure several others in London where kinda hoping against hope that Paige would debut, since immediately before the Diva Royale was the RAW debut of Summer Rae (who's feuding with Paige on NXT 'currently' in the time-warped NXT dimension). I'm sure people were bored to tears realizing that Paige isn't coming out, and this is a blatant setup for A.J./Kaitlyn at Extreme Rules. 3) HOW DID SUMMER RAE DEBUT AND NOT PAIGE GRRR well trolled, WWE 'officials'... well trolled. She even got to betray Fandango and dance with Y2J, I hafta admit Summer looked great in the spotlight.

If anything, probably more people in that arena knew that Layla is British than that Paige even exists. Divas don't get reactions because they aren't featured, not because everyone was bummed out about a pair of girls from NXT. Lets not kid ourselves.

Paige aka Britani Knight is from a famous UK wrestling family, she's basically the Hogan of the UK and I doubt more people know of Layla than of the Knight family but I guess there's no way to tell either way. In any case the way that the Fandangoing has blown up overnight I would never doubt the power of viral buzz, and Paige's buzz is unlike any other Divas' currently in the WWE so let's agree to disagree.

Twitter followers, TV exposure, mainstream exposure. I'm sure everyone knows more about Hulk Hogan's son Nick than lets say CM Punk? Yeah, not really.

Ah, the days where one grows nostalgic for Diva Battle Royals when Jillian Hall and some other heel Diva team up, clean house, then Jillian ticks off her "friend". They argue, the lone face Diva (Eve, Mickie or maybe Kelly) sneaks up and eliminates Jillian (to a decent pop, I might add), then beats up the last heel Diva FTW.

It was particularly bad in this situation when there was a million ways they could have started the build for a PPV match between AJ and Kaitlyn given their history. except they did that before they had the battle royal, so that was the justification on how she got what she wanted AJ had already beat her by countout like 2 weeks before Mania but then they dropped the feud and just picked it back up again. The week before the battle royal one of the Bellas had pinned Kaitlyn in a non title match and it seemed like they were moving on from the AJ vs. Kaitlyn feud. They did the same thing last year they started the feud with backstage fights/encounters then they dropped it again. It seems like they keep wanting to do the feud and then they just...stop.

Paige is a big name in the UK scene, but don't kid yourself. Being a big name on the UK scene is similar to being a big name in ROH. If she had debuted on Monday, won the battle royal and immediately destroyed Kaitlyn, she'd still have gotten crickets.
