I'm fine with no extra members, but not the other two. In fact we've already seen the group being controlled after all, if Heyman didn't have some connection to them then he wouldn't have been able to set up the Maddox beatdown. That was simply paying vigilantes for their services. He paid for Brad Mad Ox's services as well, they both were just there to protect his investment and nothing more. However being controlled is still being controlled no matter what the circumstances, be it for love, money or power, Heyman has still controlled the Shield before. That's fact.

How did he know they were willing to be bought though? And where they'd be to arrange it?

No ....one remembers that Heyman hired them, right? It is when Heyman is writing the checks.

I think OP is onto something but it's probably not going to be anything we see come to fruition until after the rubber match between HHH/Lesnar. Punk and Lesnar are definitely furtive allies since they're 'Paul Heyman guys' and if they don't form a 2-man Power Trip I say they join Shield to form a super stable led by Heyman. Shield can freebird the tag titles, Punk goes for the glory main event titles and Lesnar just hurts people in marquee matches as always.
On the Evolution side of things, it'd be nice if Batista came back but without him you can just make it a DX reunion party and have HBK sub in for Ric Flair as the manager, which would mean promoting someone else to DX along with the New Age Outlaws (so they can challenge the freebird tag team champs The Shield). If we have to have HHH in the main event I would rather it be under the DX umbrella anyways.
