Meltzer confirms Chael would have won if he had survived the round since Jones wouldn't have been cleared to continue. But did he break the toe during the celebration or during the fight? If it was during the celebration, he might not have broken it

I guess that's supposed to be a callback of some sort to traditional martial arts. It would make sense. That said, I'd really like athletic commissions to at least discuss a change to shoes or some sort of protective foot gear to reduce the risk of injury that comes with having your fighters barefoot.

Chael Sonnen can now fade into the sunset to never be seen again...sigh, who am I kidding? Someone tell Mighty Mouse to get ready. They'll probably do a catchweight title fight next. Sonnen vs. Velazquez Sushhhhhhh don't give them any ideas Also I don't Like Sonnen but I really don't want to see him be the first fatality in the octagon. But overall it was a strange event. Two fights ending via technical Decision due to eye pokes and If Sonnen had survived the first round he would won via bullshit fluke injury like Vitor Belfort did almost 10 years ago. Plus with the amount of eye pokes that happened tonight if you were playing the UFC drinking game you would be lucky to be alive by the main event.

A couple of things as I sit here drunk watching "Cheaters"....
1. Jon's toe injury was even more disgusting than that Louisville basketball player's injury to me. I hope he's okay.
2. According to the post-fight presser, Anderson called Dana and said he wanted to fight either GSP or Bones. Gotta think it was GSP because how could Spider want ANYTHING to do with Bones? He's the best in MMA right now.
3. Did anyone hear demonic voices shortly after round one of the Bisping-Belcher fight?

I think if the fighters wore shoes, they wouldn't be allowed to use kicks. Thus someone whose biggest strength is kickboxing would be put at a disadvantage.

3. Did anyone hear demonic voices shortly after round one of the Bisping-Belcher fight? Yes and in fact Bisping missed the golden opportunity of being the first fighter to thank Satan in the post fight interview with Joe Rogan.

Just finished watching the last two prelims that I missed when I went out to lunch this afternoon and really what on earth was Sheila Gaff thinking running in front of a wrestler who is olympic silver medalist with her hands up.
She might as well placed a sign on her chest saying please take me down.

This was my first time being live at a UFC event. While some weird things happened during the fights, it was still a very fun night. Not the best of shows, but being there live helped.
I would definitely like to go again.

Man, Jones' toe....
I can deal with all the blood and gashes and fighters heads etc, but that? Nope. Made me nauseas.
