Scott Norton was and remains a big name in over in New Japan. And he is right, Lesnar did take a dump on NJPW, the second time he has walked away from wrestling after over-paying the over-rated hoss. The trouble is, the prestige of the IWGP Heavyweight title has descending into nothingness. After the insult of the Fujita-Sasaki match/title reign, the repeated vacations and tournaments, hell the general insistence of over-pushing the colourless shooter Fujita and the ageing Chono. Kojima didn't exactly set the world on fire as double Champion either. Its a sad fact that, frankly, New Japan is a modern day WCW circa 1999-2000. The promotions a mess, with no real direction. And thus, why I love my Noah. Even when they screw-up (Rikio becoming GHC Champion) they rectify (Taue transistions the belt back to the original Noah golden boy, Akiyama).
So yeah, Lesnar was wrong to screw over New Japan. However, New Japan has gotten itself into a point where its screwing itself over again and again. Which really is a crying shame.

I hate the way WCW wasted him. Wrestlers who are really over in Japan often get wasted/buried in the USA. For example, Norton & Yugi Nagata in WCW and Vader & Giant Bernard/Albert in WWE.

The man survived teaming with Ice Train, that alone should make us all respect him. And he teamed with Marcus Alexander Bagwell, and he survived without having to team up with his mom. I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt here, mostly because I don't want him coming over to my place and whupping me while he still has shaving cream on his face.

I don't know, but I know I would agree with Scott Norton, if he was anywhere close.

Scott Norton > Bork Laser That, and since Norton was responsible for the greatest angle in WCW ("Hey Norton, the Cat's callin' you out!"), I'll definitely take his side. Reitirate on the Cat/Norton angle please? I don't remember it.

Reitirate on the Cat/Norton angle please? I don't remember it. This was something where The Cat stood in the middle of the ring and called out anybody (maybe specifically anybody in the nWo) and the nWo B-team would get Scott Norton and tell him The Cat was calling him specifically out. He'd march out to the ring and promptly destroy The Cat. It was definitely a fun angle.

I believe in the sentiment but he's the wrong person to be talking about it. Norton is NO ONE in the grand scheme of the IWGP. wha? He's one of the most beloved Gaijin in New Japan. The fact he even won the title. Dude how dare you discount Scott Norton I dare. I stand by my original comment. Yasuda and Sapp were champs too, so talent is NOT a prerequiste for having the belt. Besides, listen to the comment, it's kayfabed. And he isn't in Hansen, Vader, Tenzen, Hashimoto, etc. league. Watch his matches and watch their's. No comparison.

What everyone is saying is that Scott Norton is/was one of the most popular wrestlers in Japan.
