At FAN, we pride ourselves on covering some of the less mainstream things in pop culture (although we cover mainstream stuff as well)...be it comics, movies, or yes...wrestling. The FAN 75 is going to be us (this board) coming up with the top 75 Indy wrestling stars of today. This isn't about workrate, or how many titles someone's won...this is more or less what the Fan Universe (I feel dirty saying that) thinks is tops today.
The criteria is this:
No WWE or TNA contracted wrestlers (this includes NXT and OVW) No NJPW or AJPw guys (NOAH, Dragon Gate, and such is fine though) No AAA
I'm allowing ROH simply because a lot of their talent works indy shows, like Steen and Jacobs.
When people send in their top 10 lists (either here or in a PM to me), I'll have a point system in place. It goes:
1. -10pts 2. -9pts. 3. -8pts 4. -7pts 5. -6pts 6. -5pts 7. -4pts 8. -3pts 9. -2pts 10. -1pt
In case of a tie, I'll with the one with the highest ranking. So if two wrestlers are tied, and one has a first place vote and the other a second place vote, the first place vote is ranked above him. I really wanted to do a seperate women's list, but will include female wrestlers if they get on enough people's lists.
As with any list, there are going to be rankings and choices that others won't like. That's fine. This list is meant for fun.
I'll need all entries in by Monday, May 27th. I'm planning to put the list up on the main site and the board the first or second week of June.
Thanks to all involved and let's see who you think is the best indy wrestlers out there today!

I'd rather keep it to the guy's most well known persona.

Tag Teams count or would you rather keep it to singles? Just thinking there is one team they probably wouldn't crack my top 10 as singles but would as a team.

I'm gonna go ahead and count tag teams as one entry.

Also, is this an intergender list, or will there be a separate poll for female wrestlers?

Since so many people added one or two women entries, I'm allowing it.

Since so many people added one or two women entries, I'm allowing it. Cool. Just wondering. Don't think many if any women will wind up on mine, but clarification is always cool. Matter of fact, I'll just post my list right now. 1: Kevin Steen 2: Colt Cabana 3: Adam Pearce(I don't watch Impact that much, not sure if the Gutcheck thing is another Joey Ryan deal. If I missed that, I'll update. 4: Chuck Taylor 5: The Briscoe Brothers 6: RockNES Monsters 7: Roderick Strong 8: Adam Cole 9: PPRay(Peter Avalon and Ray Rosas) 10: Shaun Ricker

Keep those lists coming in! Got a lot of great ones already and some of the choices may surprise you...or not. I'm not in your head.

My list will be all local too, but I think that's why this countdown is gonna be really unpredictable and fun!

I think the first 25 are starting to shape up a little bit (can always use more posters sending lists), but the final 50 looks to be a bit of a wildcard as far as placement is concerned. I'm enjoying it.

Just for fun, maybe there should be a bottom ten also. Like the ten guys who were just barely known enough to get voted for by more than one person.

Man,coming up with 10 people is easy, but assigning a numerical value is tough.

Man,coming up with 10 people is easy, but assigning a numerical value is tough. Yeah, I had had no problem with 1 and 2 but after that ranking them was difficult.
